The key is to walk through airport security very nervously, mov-
ing your eyes back and forth a lot, and insisting before they even
ask that this is something that you carry with you all the time.

Rip Curl’s H-Bomb is the world’s first power heated wetsuit. It’s a wetsuit designed to keep you super-warm by positioning a source of heat on your upper back. This heats your core and allows your body to experience warm blood to your extremities.

Rip Curl’s H-Bomb is powered by two Polymer Lithium Ion 7.2v batteries. These are the same batteries found in your mobile phone, ipod and laptop computer.

The same batteries as in our laptop computers? Uh oh….

Alternatively, you can wear your unit through security like so, holding your arms thus to appear that you are being careful not to set it off.

Maybe the 3rd degree burns will not hurt as much under water. 😛

Would you be better off wearing a thicker sweater?
    Another wasteful product…

  3. chuckcanuck says:

mandarin, do you often go scuba diving wearing a sweater?

  4. BHK says:

Motorcyclists often wear heated vests. They are wonderful in winter when several layers of clothing make it difficult to move. The principle is the same- a heated core will move warm blood to the extremities, though I’ve seen other clothing that’s heated as well, including boot soles.

I was shocked at how fast I got cold while diving in Mexico in water that was in the mid 70’s and low 80’s. Granted, I did not have a wet suit on, just a lycra skin suit, but it was still disconcerning.

Anything that keeps me in the water longer is OK in my book.
