Football fans out there were treated to a fantastic exercise in losing when the Arizona Cardinals lost to Chicago Bears on NFL Monday Night Football. Apparently, one Arizona player felt like telling some fan or other to stick it by giving them what appeared to be the finger. I’m not sure how many people noticed, but it seems classless if you ask me.

  1. FRAGaLOT says:

this is news worthy? So some sour-puss loser gives a finger to some guy who’s probably giving him crap for losing. I bet he’s flipping off a Bears fan.

    Dah Bears!

  2. doug says:

hey, Bill Bidwell has been giving fans the metaphorical finger since the Cards were in St. Louis!

  3. Kevin says:

This was broadcast on MNF, not on purpose but as the camera was following another player off the field you could see this action off to the left. Okeafor throws the finger much higher before he is out of view of the recipient. Obviously a sore looser; maybe had his team mates on the other side of the line continued to beat on the Bears D (not likely) he would have been in better spirits.

  4. OhForTheLoveOf says:

#1 – Is it newsworthy? This is a blog, where John and his long-time childhood friends post stuff that they think is interesting for whatever reason… but when you think about it, how newsworthy is half the stuff that is actually on the news?

  5. volt says:

    >but it seems classless if you ask me.

Right. Right. We’ll revoke his privileges to wear a gown at his debutante ball right away. “Wouldn’t be prudent.”

  6. joshua says:

My Dad is a founding director of the Bidwell family must go foundation.
But, at the same time, he has had prime 50 yard line season tickets (8) since the Cards came to Phoenix. His reasoning is simple…..how else would we get to see great football teams(as they come in and wipe the Cards butts everyother w/e) play live.

  7. Mike Voice says:

Apparently, one Arizona player felt like telling some fan or other to stick it …

And I’m sure said fan wasn’t making a similarly-rude gesture or comment… the Arizona player just picked some poor fan at random. 🙂

  8. Smartalix says:

    4,

for the record, I had to chase John for years before I got onto his team.

  9. Mr. Fusion says:

Classless, yes, but its Tuesday, what else are we going to talk about?

  10. James Hill says:

After further review, the football Cardinals still suck.

  11. DeLeMa says:

Darn ! I thought he’d just flipped the booger off his finger !

  12. tallwookie says:

    /agree w/ #1 – this isnt newsworthy

  13. #13 and #1 miss the point. It’s newsworthy that it wasn’t covered!

  14. AM says:

#9 – the sports guys up here in MN really miss Denny and his incomprehensible pronouncements – that one was a classic …

  15. Jeff says:

Yeah, this is pretty tasteless and not really newsworthy.

But being in AZ I think I understand somewhat. If you watched any of the post game either, you would know that prob 50% of those attending the game were Bears fans. The Cardinals haven’t had a home crowd in years. Even at home I was aggrivated by how many people were rooting for the Bears.

  16. Bill R. says:

This was nothing… You should have heard Dennis Green’s post game conference.

The replays of the conference applied liberal use of the tone to bleep out his language again.
