Kyodo news agency said it was the first time in Japan that a woman has acted as a surrogate mother for the child of her daughter — effectively delivering her grandchild.
Netsu said the baby — whose gender has not been revealed — was first registered as a child of the surrogate mother and later adopted by the daughter and her husband.

I have a great idea to end world hunger that could incorporate surrogate mothers. My vision is to first invest in the wombs of poor African women and embed in them a donor egg and sperm that they will carry for a couple. Just imagine the freedom that your wife would have. She wouldn’t have to adjust her lifestyle for 9 months, no delivery pains or risk to her life and no stretch marks or weight gain. The African women would become experts in carrying pregnancies which would help in lowering birth defects due to nutrition. Just think a mother-in-the-wings could keep on doing drugs, smoking joints and run those marathons with no worry. This would also help in reducing starvation since the woman would be constantly pregnant with someone else’s baby on not her own whom would starve anyway. The world has to look to new solutions but people’s minds have to be more open.
