IOL: Irwin-inspired hunter in bizarre placenta bid — Yes, another example of the decline of Western civilization. YUK!

Brisbane, Australia – An man who says “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin shaped his love for reptiles said Tuesday he plans to feed the placenta from the birth of his newborn son to his pet monitor lizards, to bring his family closer to the animals known in Australia as goannas.

Wil Kemp, a reptile keeper at the Rockhampton Zoo in north-eastern Queensland state, said his second son was born on September 5, the day after a stingray killed Irwin as the famed TV conservationist filmed on the Great Barrier Reef.

Kemp and his fiance Kahila Pepper named the boy Tai Irwin – the former after the taipan snake and the latter after the television star.

Kemp said the couple planned to feed the placenta to their three pet goannas, which live in pits in the family’s backyard, after a homecoming gathering on Sunday.

It’s rich in protein and probably quite healthy for the reptiles.

The decline of Western Civilization. That begs to answer the question, ” When was the peak?”.

    #3, when indeed.

but wouldn’t it be ironic if it made them sick?

  5. Mr. Neocon Fusion says:

That is just effen sick. The guy is just too cheap to buy food for the animals.

That’s touching. Of course it would have made a better story if he were to save the goanna guano and used it as fertilizer for a fruit tree that could grow and provide fresh fruit for his whole family. He could leave some of the fruit to drop and start new fruit trees, so that when he and his wife die, they can be buried in a coffin made out of the wood that was grown from the guano from the goannas that ate the afterbirth from their second son. Then again all that touchy feely stuff might give their oldest son a complex. They’d probably be better off to just smack their lizards in the head, and cook them up for supper. That would complete the circle. The freaks.

#6, I’m on board with that idea.
