The nefarious logo

Why does this not surprise me? From inconveniencing travelers by searching for things highly effective foreign airport security agencies would laugh at to ignoring cargo shipments to, well…, pretty much everything else they do (or don’t do), HS is unfortunately become a laughing stock of the public who wants them to provide a vital service.

Is the Department of Homeland Security serving the public or saving face?

I recently received a letter from the Department of Homeland Security at work asking us to change the graphics on our website ReallyReady.org. They believe we have infringed on their “intellectual property” because we used logos and graphics that were similar to those used on their site. (That was part of the point we were making) Their complaint was specifically that we were using the grey word “ready” with a green checkmark over it. I am totally serious. That is what they spend their time on. One year after Katrina and they still don’t have a quality emergency preparedness website for the public, but have time to quibble over who used their check mark and the word “ready.”

Now we understand why they are so upset. The government is giving people bad advice and we are giving them good advice and this might confuse them. And we can’t have people confused, can we?

All this brouhaha is all about control. The more invasive “security” measures we allow, the more they will implement.

Further proof of my tax dollars hard at work for the people of the United States!

The government is supposed to work in public interest. They don’t have a right to intellectual property. Their documents should be public domain. Their “inventions” should be unpatentable. The only case they should ever carry out this kind of intervention is a fraud case.

We need a national recall amendment so we could get rid of bad government BEFORE it causes irreparable harm. *sigh* I am really get sick of this stupid sh*t from the government. It’s like the government is run by 5 year old children.

AP reports that, “The Federal Aviation Administration violated its own policies when it assigned only one controller to a Lexington, Ky., airport tower the morning of a fatal air crash”

Too late. The FAA is a mess. It’s actually been a mess for some time now. I guess they don’t view ATC as a security function.

A good quote. “The public is the only critic whose opinion is worth anything at all.” You can’t beat public opinion. They keep trying.
