Not much on the servers, etc., but the power generation usage and the backup systems are amazing.

  1. Chuck says:

It doesn’t look like a series of tubes…

  2. James Hill says:

…just a series of pieces of equipment maintained and held in awe by people who get hung up over poorly crafted metaphors.

  3. ECA says:

Mommy, can I run a Beowolf configuration on that??

  4. Smartalix says:

Server-farm management is becoming a Very Big Thing. Companies like Liebert and APC are vying for leadership in the power and facility management arena, offering integrated power backup, racking, cooling, and even security management.

The really cool thing will be when the new field of digital power management at the board level is integrated into the facility-level systems to provide entire “smart building” control down to the point-of-load converters in a single blade server (or telecom switch).

  5. OmarThe Alien says:

The really cool thing is that very small businesses that would never consider implementing a network for a small office now run wireless networks without too much of a thought, except for the dumb brute that gets assigned duties as IT guy because the Boss caught him defragging his computer one day.
But server tech continues to trickle down, and it won’t be long before every small office comes equipped with a server based network. And this not just for the brain-bog type businesses like loan and insurance companies, but carpet cleaners, small truckers and loggers.

  6. John Schumann says:

It’s a great video with some very heavy duty tech.

  7. ECA says:

Only problems I see, is the cost of servers…and I cant see WHY..

  8. Doug Cullens says:

Doing the job as right as right can be, far out!

  9. GregAllen says:

That video sure debunks the self-image of high tech as being green.

  10. jari says:

very nice but I was shocked that the diesel tanks were above ground. With 5 layers of biometrics to get inside you’d think they would put the tanks underground to protect them.

  11. ECA says:

    yep,
HIDE them….Make an out building or something…
ALSO wouldnt place them THAT close…maybe about 100+ feet away.
