Psycho Killer Raccoons Terrorize Olympia
— These miserable animals are all over the state of California too. Many local dummies think they are “cute.”

A fierce group of raccoons has killed 10 cats, attacked a small dog and bitten at least one pet owner who had to get rabies shots, residents of Olympia say.

Some have taken to carrying pepper spray to ward off the masked marauders and the woman who was bitten now carries an iron pipe when she goes outside at night.

“It’s a new breed,” said Tamara Keeton, who with Kari Hall started a raccoon watch after an emotional neighborhood meeting drew 40 people. “They’re urban raccoons, and they’re not afraid.”

Tony Benjamins, whose family lost two cats, said he got a big dog — a German Shepherd-Rottweiler mix — to keep the raccoons away.

Wildlife is just trying to survive in a world that we are slowly using up and destroying. They do not ask for much, just a place to sleep and enough to eat and survive. They raise their young and do not have it easy. Some are lucky and live in a natural setting and good habitat. Some are unlucky and live in areas where people also live and this is their misfortune. I never thought to much about Raccoons until I found a baby half dead that had been abanded. What an incredible joy this little girl brought to our home, they are so smart and funny. We bottle feed her, bathed her and gave her a chance to be free and live. After a lot of information and out of love for our little baby, we found a Vet to train Lucky and return her to the wild where she would be free in a safe area. Maybe we adapt better in Missouri with nature.
