The candy that “melts in your mouth, not in your hand” has a new message: this space for rent.

M&Ms, the candy-coated chocolate nibbles, next month will be available for corporate logos and advertising under a plan called “My Branding” — an escalation in a war with The Hershey Company and its “Kissables” invasion.

It also plans to sell ready-made message-bearing M&Ms in retail stores like birthday or anniversary cards.

I wonder if they’ll produce M&M’s with political messages for folks. That could get interesting.

Twenty bucks some Pro-Lifers make a few that say “Morning After Pill”. Any takers?

  2. Frank D says:

This doesn’t change the Logo, but you can select your own message at this site:

  3. Angel H. Wong says:

If the M&M’s had the M$ logo In could finally say that these M&M’s taste like sh*t

  4. KB says:

This news is old, I saw something like it months ago on Uncle Dvorak’s blog: http://www.dvorak.org/blog/?p=3332 …..

Of course the story is new, but I just wanted to see what it felt like to scribble one of those “this news is old” comments. 🙂

  5. ben says:

If M&Ms puts advertising on their candy, then I shouldn’t have to pay for it.

  6. rctaylor says:

So let me get this right. John is going to buy a bunch of these custom candies and give them away on this site. I’m ok with that, any objections? 😉

  7. Mike Voice says:

This explains the recent “movie tie-in” M&Ms… like the three types with Pirates of the Carribean-themed printing on them.

As soon as they offer customized peanut M&Ms, I’m all over it!

  9. Mr. H. Fusion says:

It’s a cool idea. Not only logos, but birthdays and other special events. What a keepsake. Great marketing idea.

Years ago when I worked for a pen manufacturer, we had a small sideline printing specialty pens. It was profitable and the operators loved doing it.

It was just a matter of time. Next: Specially imprinted toilet paper. Just think of the possibilities.

Omar, you can get it here:

  13. James says:

I thought they have already been doing this for a few years now…
