Comic/Cleric/Phoney Omar Brooks AKA Abu Izzabeen
Joking Muslim cleric mocks victims of London blasts – Sunday Times – Times Online — Gee, I wonder what the Danish cartoonists think of this?
A SPEECH by an extremist Muslim cleric praising the London bombers and mocking victims of suicide attacks has been broadcast on the internet to coincide with the anniversary of the July 7 attacks.
The audience laughs as Omar Brooks, a British Muslim convert who also uses the name Abu Izzadeen, makes fun of non-Muslims as “animals” and “cowards”.
Brooks — who has previously described the London bombers as “completely praiseworthy” — identifies with the views of Mohammad Sidique Khan, the ringleader of the London attacks.
He contrasts the supposed bravery of Khan’s suicide to the “kuffar” (non-Muslims) who are characterised as debauched binge-drinkers who vomit and urinate in the street.
The speech is peppered with jokes that bring laughter from his audience at the Small Heath youth and community centre in Birmingham, where it was filmed last Sunday.
I am netiher a Christian or a Muslin, or anything else come to that, but hey I have tremendous admiration for both religions and others besides. So, how sad that ‘A-holes’ like these ‘lo-lifes’ should attempt (clearly unsuccessfully) to tarnish the fine Muslim culture in this way…
Heroes? according to the media most of us think not … .. A-holes/Losers – absolutely chuffin lutely… wake up and smell the Java you dumb idiots…… 99.9999 % of the world just wants to feed their kids and make the world a better place to live.. if you want to blow yourselves up then fine….. carry on, but hey. do humanity a huge favour and do it on your own eh!
The planet has too many problems without fools like you attempting clouding issues like global famine, torture/child rape etc. I f you want to be a proper hero/martyr that’s where you should be setting your sites, and for heavens sake most of us would fund you for it! zzzzzzzzzz
Then you wonder why the the non muslim world hates muslims. Tools like this that seem to be the mouth piece for a supossedly peacefull religion (yeah right).
I’m betting the Danish cartoonists are pissed off.
It will be interesting to see if he’s brought up on charges under the new law making hate speech about certain groups (not white males, or Christians) a criminal offense in Britain.
The leader of British Nationalist Party, Nick Griffin, was accused of hate crimes for saying that Mulsims would bomb the tubes, his trial was postponed since it was to begin on the day the tubes were bombed. He was acquited, but they are going to try him again. Anyone that opposes immigration is called a racist, a hater, and put in jail if possible. Same thing in America, but it takes a little more work to get them in jail.
truly revolting.
The real irony is that guy and the people who laughed at his disgusting commentary are lucky they live in a western society that values free speech, even when it is unbearably offensive. Under the law they seek to establish – or even a secular tyrannical state like Syria or Egypt – they would no doubt be subject to severe punishment for uttering things so repulsive to the majority of the people who live in their country.
That, of course, is one of the things that separates us from the people we struggle against.
Uh oh John, somebody is stealing you and Pat Robertsons tricks.
I would pay to see this guy and pat robertson in a cagematch!
“2006: The new Holy wars: See which relgion can win the war on terror! Thrills Chills and Spills! The Thrilla in Vanilla! After a costly sneak attack can pat use his secret potion to lift 2000lbs of hurt on the screaming sheik?! find out ITS PRAYBACK TIME!
How did someone like xully get attracted to this forum?
To put his insane comments into perspective, the British Nationalist Party is a white supremacist group over in England. Nick Griffin is a vocal member who is also a Holocaust denier, a gay-basher yet alleged closet-homosexual who had a 4 year affair back in the early 80’s (pointed this out to show the typical hypocrisy in these goofballs).
His arrest and trials have centered around his hate speech and other behavior intended or likely to stir up racial hatred. While we have free speech over here, they don’t let morons like this guy get away with it over there. The guy is a total tool and by proxy, so is xully for even bringing him up here.
BUT, having said all that and condemning xully and Nick Griffin, this guy Omar Brooks should be held to the same standards. Perhaps we’ll see some complaints about it over there? Hate speech is hate speech. Nick Griffin, Omar Brooks and xully are prime examples of it.
It wouldn’t surprise me, as they have evidence that he made this speech, if the police finger his collar in the near future, on charges of “incitement to racial hatred” or similar
Johnny Cakes you proved my point with your personal attacks. Thank you.
Pedro said >>I know some muslim people and I know they’re not like that. But where are the good muslims trying to protect the image of their religion when a nutjob like this appears?
This is a fair question but one often asked with a double standard (not, you , Pedro).
How often do any of us apologize or distance ourselves from stuff we don’t personally do? But someone vaguely associated with us does?
Take Timothy McVeigh for example. He was a self-professed libertarian. I can’t remember any libertarians standing up and speaking out against McVeigh. If I remember correctly, McVeigh was also an avid Dittohead. Did Rush Limbaugh apologize for egging on McVeigh? I don’t remember so.
Some reports say that McVeigh was a Catholic. Did Catholics “distance themselves” from McVeigh? Others say he was an agnostic. Did any agnostics apologize “distance themselves” from McVeigh?
Maybe all those groups should have spoke up, “distanced themselves” or apologized for McVeigh but most of us just don’t do that when we aren’t personally involved in something. I don’t think it occurs to us and we’re not even sure how to do it and sound sincere.
So why do we expect it from Muslims?
Xully. You brought it upon yourself, and deserved it.
#12, Gregallen, That is powerful food for thought.
Ah, send the jerk and others of his frustrated sort to heaven, where he apparently wants to go. When he and others like him have all been sent there, then they won’t bother us back here on Earth anymore (we will be so relieved).
Just another charlatan who celebrates death, while exhorting frustrated young people to go and become suicide chumps in the name of some dumb honor cult. “Goodby cruel world”. (blame it all on the Jews, etc.)
It’s like they havn’t yet figured out that the world is not a cruel place, nor a nice place either… it just IS!
(it’s what people do with it that really matters)
First….Xullly is so far right that if he bent over backwards he would be kissing a leftists butt…….now….having said that, he said nothing hateful or anything to be ashamed of in his comment. Johnny-cakes and Mr. Fusion I’m sorry, but I don’t see it. Griffen is a bigot of the first order, but he was arrested for his comments and brought to trial and aquitted. Yet, the cartoon demonstators that had signs and things calling for beheading British citizens, cartoonists and others, were given a smack on the wrists. There is a double standard in Britain and don’t be surprised if this guy gets nothing done to him. Everyone from Blair on down are scared to death to alienate the Muslims, but they have no problem alienationg everyone else. I guess thats because everyone else won’t behead them.
#12 gregallen….Tim McViegh also used toliet paper to wipe his butt, the same as I do, but I didn’t feel any compelling reason to distance my self from him, at least not any more than anyone would from a cold blooded killer. I think he was denounced by most gregallen, I didn’t see any agnostics, Catholics or anyone else making excuses for him as the *moderate* Muslims do for these killers and the spewers of hate that seems to make up quite a large segment of their religion.
I watch these so called moderate Imans when they talk to the press or in a speech, when asked for their views on , say the 7/7 bombers, they deplore it, then comes the big pause, with the next word being …..*BUT*……then comes the excuses and rationalizing.
I might be a little more slanted towards yours and johnny’s view points if I didn’t see the man in the street reactions to terror bombing that kills 50 or hundreds of innocent people, when millions of Muslims come out into the street celebrating the event, it makes it hard to think they are moderate or a peaceful religion as they claim.
Joshua,
WHY THE SILENCE: I am just explaining why I think you don’t hear a lot of apologizing from the Muslim world. People generally don’t apologize for things they don’t personally do. I’ll try another analogy:
I am a white guy and I am TOTALLY against slavery and even the current bigotry towards blacks, which is everywhere.
But I HAVE NEVER, ever walked up to a black guy and apologized to him for what my white race did and is currently doing. I’ve never written a letter to the editor or anything like that.
I remain pretty much silent even though I am dead set against racism and bigotry!
Is that bad of me? Maybe… probably. But I’m just like everybody else. I just don’t know how to apologize for things I don’t directly do while seeming sincere about it. Even when they are done by my people.
EXPLAINING TERRORISM: As for your point that moderate Muslims explain the motivations of the terrorists… I’m perfectly fine with that. It is to our advantage to understand the enemy.
Bush & Co. would have you believe that the terrorists “hate America for our freedoms.” I’ve had the interesting experience of living right in the midst of some of the hottest breeding grounds of Islamic extremism in the world. I can assure you that the motivation of the terrorists is a lot more complex and thoughtful than “hating us for our freedom.”
But, rationalizing the dastardly deeds done by “our own” is also a human reaction.
Witness the soft-selling by FOX and other Bush supporters of torture, killing, rape and other horrors by our soldiers, financed by our tax dollars.
Bush supporters use a big “BUT” , too
Typically “… but, bad things happen in the stress of war.” or similar
Does that mean Bush supporters support rape and killing? I sure hope they aren’t that evil!
