A huge collection of off-the-record satellite”feeds” done by Brian Springer. I’m not as jazzed on this video as some other people seem to be. It reveals that behind the scenes in TV consists of a lot of rehearsals, advice from experts, re-takes. Duh! And guess what? People chat casually behind the scenes. There is nothing groundbreaking here for anyone who has ever done TV that’s for sure. Maybe it is a shock to the more naive in the audience. That said some interesting footage at the 18 minute mark regarding Larry Agran who got jobbed by the media.

And yes, this vid was produced and first appeared in 1995 and is now finding an audience.

It’s always fascinating to see “personalities” being themselves. Great find. Where’s the off-the-record footage of Dvorak?

  2. JohnnyM says:

whats with the weird ethereal music? couldnt get the theme from “The Rock”?

  3. Anon says:

Sometimes Dvorak thinks too inside. Personally, I’ve never done TV. Actually seeing something we might already know or suspect at an intellectual level is still pretty interesting.

i can only imagine the behind the lines chatter from your shows… now that would be some fun to waste company time on listening to… i miss your old tv shows btw

  5. Carl Trimble says:

Who has time to watch this bullshit!? John, did you watch the whole piece?

  6. eca says:

  7. jason says:

Geez – This guy took a whole year channel surfing!

MAN I wish I had the time to do that!

  8. Zuke says:

Good find! Even though it’s so old, the tech back then was fascinating. it’s way more advanced now.

I can’t believe those “homo” comments by Robertson in front of the camera. What an idiot.

  9. Zuke says:

Forgot to say that I liked how truly balanced it was. Didn’t seem to take the side of Liberals OR Conservatives, just showed how they both spin the hell out of the media. Excellent!
