Happy 4th of July to all Americans around the world!
Something that was done in the PAST, and somewhat DONE now in our area.
the cops and fire station get together, and let the Citizans fire off ANYTHING they wish, in a controlled area.
THEn hose the thing done after.
WONDER why they dont do this in other places, AS MUCH.
Hey, it just ain’t the 4th-o-July without a trip to the emergency room!
Happy grilling and fireworks watching and Independence Day to all!
I’m having a small grill party at my apartment today, where we’ll later watch the fireworks over Manhattan from my balcony. Beer, burgers, and buddies!
Happy 4th of July to all!
God Bless America.
Indeed. Think I’ll get me a six pee-kay o’ road soadies, drift out to the middle of the lake, and burn.
Happy forth, all!
You heard the invitation from Smartalix. Everyone to his apartment for beer and burgers. What was that address again? 😉
if you live in the city, email me @yahoo. There’s always room for a couple more.
Good point rustic. We should remember all those that have come before us in this great country. Those that gave their lives to defend our Constitution. Those who built the roads using picks and shovels. Those who sat 500 ft in the air putting a rivet into a skyscraper. Those who toiled in factories producing products to make our way of life better. Those who worked in a lab through endless failures until finally success. Those who dragged fragile plows over virgin soil to feed a hungry tomorrow. And those we collectively call the unsung heros.
To all of you, my thanks.
How I wish I were there and have fun a my bear friend’s BBQ party (plenty of bear sausage there.)
We used to have the illegal fireworks free-for-all in the parking lot of Golden Gate Fields, a horse track in Albany, California. It was eventually shut down as it was like going into a firefight with explosions and rockets flying in all directions. It was amusing, but getting out of the car was quite risky. One year a new guy in ither the Fire Department of Police Department ended it. Liability had to be an issue.
I’ll swap you a case of brooklyn microbrew for some bear sausage.
Fortunately no one except Helen’s close kin and neighbors can find our rural home. Butterflied a backless chicken, this morning, and it’s been marinating with a little olive oil, fresh squeezed OJ, black pepper, Malden sea salt, fresh chopped rosemary — for an hour or so.
Just lit off some hickory chunk charcoal. Figure the critter will hit the table in between liftoff in Floriduh and the start of Germany v Italy.
All’s right with my small part of the world.
happy 4th to everyone – wish I wasnt at work right now…
drink a beer for me
tallwookie — you have our sympathy. I hope you get some comp time.
Alix: I don’t think that’s the type of sausage you’re thinking of *wink*
Wishing someone a “safe” holiday implies that the person is an idiot.
Thanks a lot.
Wishing someone a “safe” holiday implies that the person is an idiot.
When I say it, I’m hoping they don’t meet an idiot by accident.
Since this is after Midnight…..I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. Good comment Mr. Fusion, we must never forget all the people that brought us to this point in time.
It was a great day here, we watched the Germany/Italy game, half my family is German/Dutch, the other half is Italian…..it was a fun time.
And I’m laughing so hard at Angels *bear sausage*……
