Dead ringer for Dylan? Where? On Neptune?

Expectingrain.com :: View topic – Cate Blanchette set to play Bob — I first heard about this last week. Too funny. I mean really!

Blanchett to discover Bob Dylan’s other side
From Dalya Alberge, Arts Correspondent in Cannes

IT COULD not be a more unlikely casting, but Cate Blanchett confirmed yesterday that she is to play Bob Dylan in her next film.

The Oscar-nominated Australian star will be one of six actors who will each portray the musician and songwriter in a different guise…Dylan, born Robert Allen Zimmerman, is regarded as the man who brought literacy to rock lyrics. He has sold more than 90 million albums. Blanchett will portray him as an androgynous star, before his 1966 motorcyle accident.

Hey, we know the girl can act, but cripes!

Hey, maybe there’s a Crying Game ending to this movie.

  2. wtf? a women? a guy? hnnnnnnmmmm?

  3. Weird wacky stuff.

  4. FSFunky says:

Tilda Swinton would’ve been a better choice, she can pull off the “Wait, is it a guy, is it a girl?” like no other.

  5. jasontheodd says:

    what about Hillary Swank?

  6. Who cares says:

Who cares? What blog is this, “Entertainment Tonight”

  7. RTaylor says:

Could be sillier. What if it was an Arlo Guthrie biopic?

  8. Mr. H. Fusion says:

Now, this should be interesting. Will you give her an Adam’s Apple?

  9. GregAllen says:

She DOES look like the early Dylan. Who is this wierder for… Dylan or Blanchette?

  10. estacado says:

This is normal theater, why not extend it to movies.

  11. I suppose with the right make-up and a slight deformation of her nose-end she could look like Dylan. But so what? Because of “RAY” and “Truman” having actors who looked a little like and mimicked the object of the story are we now stuck with this sort of presentation forever? Maybe this will be the new direction that Joe Piscopo needs to be the lead in the life story of Sinatra or Jerry Lewis. Laid-eeeeee!
