Check out the rest of this guy’s amazing photos.

  1. Noel says:

Amazing…It would probably be even more amazing if the link to the rest of the pictures worked.

  2. Kurt says:

    That first one looks doctored.

  3. kyle says:

sweet clouds, love to see that in person, btw your photo link isn’t working – Auf Wiedersehen Dvorak

  4. Uncle Dave says:

Sorry about the link. It’s fixed.

  5. Angel H. Wong says:

Looks like baby Superman is going to land.

  6. Bill Gates says:

    this looks fake

  7. piako says:

Yeah so they looking like a ps job. Making money off of your phtoshop skills, that’s ok. Passing something off as reality, not cool.

  8. Eideard says:

Uh, folks who think these are Photoshopped simply haven’t been around enough hairy weather.

I started pulling over and snapping an orange mushroom cloud when I was about 30 miles east of El Paso one afternoon. By the time I was about 80 miles west of Odessa [still heading east] that sucker took up the whole sky and I was waltzing into tornado warnings on the radio.

Skies like this aren’t at all unusual in West Texas or Eastern New Mexico. Still scarey, though!

  9. Ryan says:

It’s a valid question to ask, since nature has a habit of looking completely unrealistic sometimes (sort of like the old author’s curse — “I don’t care if it actually happened, I can’t put that in a story, nobody would believe it!”), but believe or not, the photographs linked were not edited beyond what is considered very much normal by photographers. There are a couple shots that I would hesitate to call photojournalistic (and I single one of those out on the page), but for the most part, I would have no ethical qualms submitting most of these to a newspaper or a journalistic magazine. The one with the barn and the tractor was actually one of the *least* processed images. But again, I totally understand why someone would disbelieve those images — that’s the feeling I had as I was *standing* there taking the picture! 🙂

  10. Uncle Dave says:

As someone who has played around with graphics a bit (time to plug my recently redesigned website http://www.thomascreek.com ), I can tell he’s probably done some contrast enhancement and the one at the top probably had the path lightened. But having seen amazing photos of clouds elsewhere, those are real. For example, mammatus clouds are particularly bizarre: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap040607.html The ones in his photo may be that type.

  11. joshua says:

Visually stunning stuff. Some of you guys need to get out of the house more often, this is Mother Nature calling.

Being from Arizona we see storms and clouds like this every Monsoon season, it’s unworldly.

    Thanks Ryan……you do great work.
