Robot gives elderly a lift

The right trousers?

A two-legged robot being developed by Japanese scientists could one day carry the elderly and handicapped up stairs or inclines.

Standing 4 feet tall, the robot is essentially a seat that walks on two mechanical legs. A person hops on the seat and controls its movements using two joysticks.

What about if I’m just lazy?

Yes, excellent.. Another step towards building armed robotic exoskeletons! Mecha-wars, here we come! 🙂

But seriously, the “right trousers” comment was brilliant.

  2. Joshua says:

Yes, please sign me up for some Techno-Trousers!

  3. RTaylor says:

It would take a lot of talking to get me in that contraption. All I can imagine is a fragile body and all that metal tumbling down stairs.

  4. ECA says:

Can i de on the dev team, PLZ???

  5. lasz says:

Didn’t Dean Kamen and Co. already come up with something that does the exact same thing?

    Yep, he did.
