EASTER AT LAX — In some weird way this is one of the best and weirdest videos on the net. Done by Neo-sick comic David Feldman. A stand-up performer during the summer, he was the former head writer for the once popular Dennis Miller Show on HBO and now writes for Bill Maher. I think he might be dangerous if provoked.

    HUH???

  2. David Feldman says:

It was an actual video of a woman punching another woman. I tried to make it sweet. A homecoming. I turned it into a story of hope, faith and renewal. It was a lump of carbon begging to become a lump of diamond. I care not what the critics think because I smell Sundance, or maybe I smell the dog. The point is I took something ugly and made
it ugly in a different way. Critics! Now I know why Michael Cimino became a chick.

This sort of offbeat humor shouldn’t have to be explained. People either get it or they don’t. I may actually move this video to the cage match forums and take a poll on how many people thought it was funny.

Personally I thought it was hilarious but indeed jarring. Unusual.

If anything constitutes what I would call high humor, this would be it.

I guess I’m dense. I don’t see *funny* in this at all. Funny would have been to have the first lady that got hit, knock the other one out cold.

I missed the story of *hope, renewal etc.*….maybe I got the censored version.
I suppose if you like to watch muggings, or Happy Slap video’s like what are going around England right now and find that funny, then this was your thing.

  5. Anthony says:

Something that isn’t funny trying to be funny by not being funny isn’t funny.

  6. Jeff says:

Hey guys, lighten up. There’s nothing to get. What a hoot! How often do you get to see a real chick fight caught on video? A nice right jab, if you ask me!

    Cripes!

Joshua writes, “Funny would have been to have the first lady that got hit, knock the other one out cold.” No Joshua. We tested that version and it left the audience feeling depressed. It’s funnier to have the woman who was punched just walk away stunned, but not hurt. Gals punching Gals is a no brainer. Always funny. Always uplifting. It makes you laugh but it also makes you think. But there I go again quoting Charlie Sheen. I gave you all a beautiful fig.

I tell you what’s funny is reading this comment stream!

Unfortunately I was too absorbed in trying to understand what the conversation was to really enjoy it. But I must say, the first time I saw it was glorious…

  10. David Feldman says:

Paul writes, “People getting hurt isn’t funny period.” Maybe he missed the first quarter century of silent films. All comedy is people getting hurt. It depends on who you’re hurting. I find it revealing that while Paul deplores violence, he’s the only one who offered to punch someone in the nose. Interesting. Very “1984” if you ask me. Pacifism is violence. I think our President may have found his next Karl Rove. A woman punching another woman in the face will always be funny. A man punching a woman in the face isn’t funny. Although I laughed my ass off last night when Bacall got it in the kisser on the Sopranos. You know what? On second thought a woman getting punched in the face by a man is funny. But the woman has to be in her 80’s.

It’s funny how people see the absurdity when they view this video but fail to see when they masochistically tune into the nightly news EVERY night. The newscasters go from a story about a gruesome murder to a highschool band marching in a parade to a serial rapist on the loose to the jackpot winner of Lotto and then back to a dead soldier in Iraq and then a cut to commercials where you can buy the latest video game where you enjoy killing on your joystick. Ahh, and then supper is ready and you eat while you learn about life through celebrity stars…

    People are strange.

  12. Scott says:

If that was funny I suppose “Bum Fights” must be the funniest movie ever made.
