JON CARROLL — Local San Francisco Chronicle columnist Jon Carroll has a good essay on “The decider.”
Here’s something we all learned in the schoolyard: If you’re the guy who says, “I’m the decider,” you’re not the decider. Deciders just decide. It’s like the guy who says, “I’m the boss around here” — he protests too much. Bosses just boss. If you have to say it, you’re already in trouble.

You need that little boy who shouts out “The King is naked”
So, I wonder, who decided to rush off to war based on highly dubious intelligence?
Who decided to start this elective war before we had finished the war in Afghanistan?
Who decided to launch that war with out a good exit strategy?
Who decided to occupy that country without enough troops?
and who decided to send our troops there so ill-equipped?
Whoever decided those things IS A MASSIVE BUNGLER and must be held accountable for those decisions.
Geez Paul, it’s always SOMETHING with you!
Paul: >>and even showed that he’s not particularly anti-gay either (”i won’t fire gays in the government”).
Anti-gay? How about gay himself?
I don’t know if Bush is gay or not but I do know that he SEEMS the most gay of any president in my memory. If I knew him in some other context, I’d suspect he was in the closet.
But, ultimately, you can’t really know for sure about closeted gays until they out themselves. Maybe Bush will do this once he is out of politics, like Michael Huffington did.
I do know that he sets off the gaydars of lots of gay people.
