Hello? Yes, this place is a filthy hell-hole, wot?”
According to femalefirst quoting Daily Mail, Paltrow totes around a backpack equipped with a satellite phone and Internet CCTV capability via which she can keep an eye on little Apple from anywhere.
Paltrow, who lives in London with her husband Chris Martin, also unleashed a string of complaints about London life in an interview with Marie Claire magazine recently.
“My husband thinks I’m way too obsessed with cleanliness and germs. I’m just like, the street is filthy, could we take off our shoes before we come into the house?” she was quoted as saying.
This story is only getting International play in India where they love to give the British the needle. Givening them the needle about cleanliness, though, is somewhat ironic.
Somewhat ironic? That’s an understatment.
This from the woman who threatened to give up her US citizenship because GWB won. I say, take it from her. It isn’t that I’m a huge Bush fan, but this just goes to show that the grass isn’t always greener.
Givening? Is that a word? I like it!
But I have to wonder if she’s that against London, why on EARTH does she live there? She’s got a bit of money right? Couldn’t she move to a cleaner area? I heard Sweden is rather clean.
India calling anyplace dirty is like the pot calling the kettle black.
But…………the Brits and also most Europeans have a nasty habit of pissing in the streets. You can be in the most upscale area of London or Amsterdam and the stench of old urine can gag you. It’s even worse if there is a club or pub anywhere near the place.
But Ms. Paltrow is a whiner anyway. When she first moved to London she complained that British men were cheap and not very sexual. That if you could tear one away from his mates long enough to ask a girl out they expected the girl to pay their share and hang out with his mates at the local. I think she said something like….*they would rather get drunk with their mates than sleep with a woman*…..
“But…………the Brits and also most Europeans have a nasty habit of pissing in the streets.”
That’s just unsanitary.
I saw her interviewed on “the culture show” on BBC2 on the 26 Jan – mainly about her film roles and her new film “Proof” and as I remember she briefly commented on the press reports about her comments about London, the english weather etc. – I can’t remember now exacly what she said but it seemed to boil down to it being over-hyped.
She’s just another Hollywood whack-job.
“…in India where they love to give the British the needle. Givening them the needle about cleanliness, though, is somewhat ironic. ”
You hit the nail right on the head.
There are parts of all major cities that’s best left unvisited by less hardy souls. Many people have romantic ideas about a place like London. If you stay with the tour group you have a much better chance of staying out of hospital. The violence of London’s youth rivals any city. You may not get shot as easily, but they know how to rob and beat the crap out of a lost tourist as well as any US inner city gang.
“But…………the Brits and also most Europeans have a nasty habit of pissing in the streets.”
Do we? Can’t say I have noticed.
