Milosevic Wrote of Poison Threat, Legal Aide Says | Europe | Deutsche Welle | 12.03.2006 — Next day another suicide. Sounds like American-style justice in the Hague. No wonder we’ll have no part of this “World” court. Hey, but they don’t have the death penalty do they?

Milosevic was found dead in his prison bed Saturday at the tribunal in The Hague, where he was being judged for genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity over the 1990s Balkan wars that killed more than 200,000 people.

Hardcore loyalists to the man branded the “Butcher of the Balkans” accused the UN court of responsibility for his death, some even laying accusations of murder by poisoning.

Good ridance. At least there is no chance he would have aquitted.
Also it looks like natural causes.

  2. Ein says:

It was an heart attack. But, it will not end speculations (drug induced?).

  3. joshua says:

I don’t care how he died…..I’m just glad he’s gone. And it was way more civlized than the deaths of thousands he ordered.
I say screw the polite war trials…..when we know for a fact these butchers arwe guilty…line them up and shoot them on prime time television.

  4. stalinvlad says:

Yeah like we are ever going to find out

  5. Awake says:

Think of the movie ‘Ghost’… think of the moaning shadows coming to get him… it’s a happy thought that should make you smile.

  6. Mr. Fusion says:

There will always be speculation that he was poisoned. Some will just never accept that he was a butcher who deserved what he ordered for so many others.

Awake, I love your little anology.

  7. Jack Lear says:

Personally – I’d much rather that he’d have lived to face trial before he died.

As it stands they really botched the whole prosecution – No doubt you’ll get rebels and extremists that will, in the future, take pride in the fact he never was found guilty.

What kind of justice is this for the slaughtering of 200,000 really? Hell he was 64 with a well publicised heart condition (other than it being black – it was weak).

He got off way too easy by dying.

  8. AB CD says:

The trial was going badly, because the war was a joke. Not a good sign for Saddam’s trial.

  9. J.S. Scongilli says:

It was interesting that Radik committed “sucide” the week before. Looks like the UN didn’t want to have to deal with Milosevic’s defense so they took him out.
