Gearlog : A Flying SUV by 2009?
This may look like a plane, but it’s actually a conceptual design of a flying SUV from the minds of talented grad students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Terrafugia, a general aviation, manufacturing company, is working with the students on what is called, the Transition Personal Air Vehicle (PAV).
That is all we need, flying SUV’s driven by cell phone talking, make-up applying soccer moms.
Was the course titled “find a way to get worse gas mileage from your SUV?”
I want one! (or more). You’ve got take the next step and make them VTOL to really have something though.
If these really take off, I will stop sleeping above grade.
Won’t happen in our lifetime.
lol they’ve been pitching this for years.. I think the general populace is too stupid to make these much more than a novelty…(if they can get one to work properly ) don’t confuse being too stupid with being incapable.. maybe in a hundred years.. If suddenly there were 1000’s of these on the market there would be some issues.. but I dont think Cessna is sweating it quite yet..the Faa either..
Coming to a trailor park near you!
just what I needed. Flying SUVs crashing into each other and then plummeting to earth, right on top of a hospital, school or church.
An SUV that takes up more space on the freeway. Great.
I’ve been waiting for this all my life. LETS GO!
Finally, a way to make SUVs more expensive, more dangerious, and more in need of regular service.
And more stupid.
