Hacked Already — I knew this wouldn’t take long.

The patch is the result of two stages: code analysis and design of the patch. The code analysis, or reverse engineering, reveals the relevant code block, which overrides Skype’s limitation for Intel’s dual-core CPUs. The patch design isolates the minimal set of instructions that need to be modified to cancel this limitation.

  2. gquaglia says:

I imagine a cease and desist order will be issued soon against this patch based on violation of the DCMA.

    Sorry I meant DMCA.

I consider violating the DMCA to be an act of civil disobedience. It is bad law.

  6. gquaglia says:

The DMCA is probably one of the worst pieces of legislation to come out of congress in quite some time. And it came out during the Clinton years. I guess not everything evil is from Bush.

  7. Me says:

Yeah, but Bush was alive and probably thinking about running for President when the DMCA was hatched, so it’s got to be at least partly his fault.

Isn’t everything Bush’s fault – kind of like the 6 degrees from Kevin Bacon thing?
