I uncovered what might be a pic of the Microsoft Origami device.
I hear it does handwriting recognition too.

agreed – terrible photoshop job
Holy lord, that is a horrible PS job. At least TRY and make a good fake.
Horrible. Absolutely Horrible.
I can’t imagine ANYBODY would buy that.
“That’s the WORST photoshopping job I’ve ever seen.”
Someone’s apparently never seen a Fark photoshop contest.
Come on, with that great mid-nineties Palm-style screen? It’s gotta be real!
Dear John,
Apparently your readership can’t take a joke.
Bad photoshopping. The “origami” text is off-angled, the IE logo looks as if it was taken from a low quality gif image and blown up.
What is that.. a Newton?? 🙂
Love that monochrome display.. state of the art.
Long live the Newton!
Yes, that’s exactly what it is. First hit in Google image search.
Come on people!!! This is a joke you know… So what if PS skills are not up to par I thought it was funny as heck.
Yes, thats a Newton, I think the point is this has been done before.
ROTFLMAO! And the Newton 12 years later still has a more elegant interface! Who said that MS couldn’t come up with an original idea?
Cool, it has my last name on it.
“What is that.. a Newton??”
I think John answered that question: I hear it does handwriting recognition too.
Wait…Its a newton, it appears I’m the only one who got the joke. Go search on wikipedia for Apple Newton…
Cripes. Where did all the PS critics come from suddenly?
I wonder if Oragami will bomb like the Newton did? Though it didn’t did it…it was just too far ahead or the times.
I’ve got insider information from sources at Microsoft that tell me their next top secret venture into the hardware market is to be a Cube shaped PC…
I see. The use of the word “uncovered” was fairly liberal.
Just because they’re pissy is no reason for you to get pissy.
Personally, I’d blame George Bush.
Wow, that is the coolest thing I have ever seen!! It almost looks like something from the 80’s; look at those colors! I’m gonna buy one right when they are released… is the sarcasm in this post too thick?
Love the updated Newton…
Hey John, the funny part of this is that many of your reader didn’t even get the joke and they jumped up with lame photo-retouching comments!
I guess I found another thing that people could use to complain about this blog: the quality of your readers sucks!!! 😉
(fyi: the last line was a joke)
Is this the Origami version made by Acer, Asus, LG or Samsung ?
Will it be less than 1000$ ?
I made an entry at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMPC
LOL @ Site Admin. I think you are assuming that more of your commenters are familiar with Apple products than are. But, then Dvorak thinks Apple would replace OS X with Windows. Now, that is weird!
While I have your ear, are you aware that this site is not fully navigable in Safari? I have to switch to Firefox to make comments.
So this is the new Origami. Nice.
Can it make Toast and Coffee in the morning?
(yawn)
For those interested this video “appears” to showcase the real thing.

I am waiting for the article where someone thinks it will walk on water.
Until MS tells people what this think is, I think we should stop feeding the hype machine.
Cool! I hear it does handwiring expidition to just likely the Norton.
Glad to see the Newton PDA is back!!!…and didn’t change a bit in all those years!!!!…Good joke Dvorak!..
