Now, after undergoing a sex change, 71-year-old Lily McBeth is ready to return to teaching as Miss McBeth. Despite criticism from parents, the school board on Monday stood by its decision to allow McBeth to resume working as a substitute teacher.
After two hours of public debate and a private meeting with McBeth and her lawyer, the board took no action on calls by several parents to bar McBeth from returning to the school where she taught for five years before becoming a woman.
Several people spoke in support of McBeth, including three transgender people, two former students of McBeth’s and a handful of others, saying that the fact that she is a good teacher was more important than whether she appears as a man or a woman in class.

I agree a woman with natural boobies would be allot better than with fake ones. I never really liked fake boobies on my teachers.

Many teachers are screw balls with thier own set of baggage. They have no business teaching regardless of sexual preference.
Any form of deviant should set off a red warning flag. A single man, a sexy broad with fake boobs, a creepy dud with handle bar moustach or whatever.
The fact that any person is a bit touched should be a psychological concern for said touched people being around children in a teaching position. Society makes every attempt to protect children from drugs, alcohol, sex, smokes, playboy, etc. they should protect childrem from potential emotional and psychological harm as well.
Last night it was reported here in ny that a child care worker was molesting a 4 year old boy. she claimed that it was the boys fault!’

Your comments about the fact that there are few world class black athletes in some sports is just plain ridiculous. That somehow that proves a genetic component to lack of ability of black athletes in some sports. Hockey is an expensive sport available in only some parts of the world; Ski-jumping is an expensive sport available in only parts of the world; Swimming can be an elitist sport available only to those whose school has a pool or those parents that can afford a gym membership for their children.
Generally speaking, the black community suffers much more with economic pressure that make participation in some sports impossible. There may also be social and cultural conditions that make some sports less apealing and more difficult to certain communties.

Sorry buddy, you are out of line. Nothing in that post suggests I am being racist. It is quite to the contrary. I was pointing out to Mike that suggesting racism and prejudice is not acceptable, even when you try to justify it. Maybe next time you could actually read what is written before you jump to a conclusion and lump me in with a racist commentary.
Not all blacks are great athletes. Not all Japanese are computer experts. Not all Chinese wear silk pajamas. Not all French have hairy armpits. And not all whites are bigots.
And where I grew up, hockey is spelled HOCKEY. Everyone not in a wheelchair played. No ice? Play in the street. No equipment? All you need is a stick, and you can share with someone sitting down. No net? A book, coat, rock, or anything handy works just fine.
Swimming? Most cities are located on an ocean, lake, or river. Most also have Community pools. That is where I learned to swim, in a cold lake. No elitism here.
Skiing? That is expensive, except for cross-country, but accessible to many. Ski jumping? That is elitist.
Agreed, convicted child molesters should NOT work at schools. Agreed, psychotic should not be teaching. But, branding transexuals as psychotic or molesters is going a bit far. Identifying people who do not look/act/think like you as unwholesome is a bit reactionary. It’s also questionable if it is really healthy for a child to be so completely isolated and sheltered that they become overly secure, without any knowledge or instincts about the world around them. It causes a backlash..where kids can become overly fearful, afraid to go about in the world, limit their options and choices. Kids need education…. and this includes to people who are NOT like themselves, their parents, etc.
Kids need exposure to a wide variety of people. The more people they meet the more information they can base later choices on.
I’ve had teachers who were loony as a drunk chicken, teachers who were closet gay, openly gay, overly severe, handicapped, other races, overt Christian, devout Muslims, escapees of Nazi concentration camps, confused, aged (to the point of dottering), angry and mean, military-like, and raging, battling terrible illness, with thick accents, and with the oddest teaching styles known to mankind. My children (prior to our decision to homeschool, for other reasons) have had an equal variety of misfits and wonderful instructors.
I can only say that some weren’t pleasant to deal with, others were amazing and interesting (and their differences were enlightening). The human condition is such that it’s the richness of the individuals that make it interesting.
I think the tranny is fine to teach. Who cares? I’m sure the kids will be enriched by the unique perspective the individual provides.
You cannot raise children in a safe, sealed bubble…..
