Television evangelist Pat Robertson suggested Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s stroke was divine retribution for the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, which Robertson opposed.

“He was dividing God’s land, and I would say, ‘Woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the [European Union], the United Nations or the United States of America,'” Robertson told viewers of his long-running television show, “The 700 Club.”

“God says, ‘This land belongs to me, and you’d better leave it alone,'” he said.

Probably the best guarantee for separation of state and church is achieved by folks actually hearing what this creep has to say. At least those less disingenuous than a school kid. His peers and the politicos kissing his butt for votes will probably find yet another reason to excuse this superstitious drivel.

  1. RTaylor says:

A man in his mid 70’s, 70 lbs overweight, under extreme pressure, and has ignored physicians orders to take better care of himself for years has a stroke. That’s an event right up there with the parting of the Red Sea.

  2. gquaglia says:

    70lbs overweight, try about 100+
I wish God would give Pat Roberson a stroke for giving him a bad name.

  3. Mike Voice says:

Let’s be honest, with saying these things he puts him at the same level as the Iranian president.

No, Pat has been at this for years! The Iranian president is just a “wannabe”. 🙂

  4. You know, if we are under the assumption that the Christian faith is correct, wouldn’t Pat Robertson be on the go-to-hell list? The man goes on TV every day and claims to have powers to see people get healed. Part of his show, he closes his eyes and says crap like “There’s a man in California who has been blind his whole life…and by the grace of god…this man, you can now SEE!” That’s gotta be covered by some kind of sin, I would imagine.

And that’s ignoring his comments like the one above, saying we should “take out” people he doesn’t like, and a variety of other ridiculous things this man does.

  5. GregAllen says:

I Googled it. Sharon is 255 lbs at 5 foot 7. One chart puts that at 90lbs over but he might be big boned.

No matter. Robertson is a loon.

  6. Robert Nichols says:

I love stuff like this. Great for laughs!

  7. garym says:

A lot of Americans are very religious, which is no suprise. The problem is that a lot of the fundamentalist preachers like Robertson preach that the Rapture is coming and it is our duty to speed God’s Kingodm here on earth.
One way to do that is for Israel to reconquer the Promised Land and rebuild the Temple on Temple Mount. These fundamentalists see anyone who works counter to these goals, such as working for peace in the Middle East, as evil people who would stop God’s Kingdom from coming to Earth.
The scary thing is that millions of people believe them and give them millions of dollars that they use to support their cause through politics here in America and abroad.

  8. Michael Reed says:

The must pass out really good drugs on the 700 club set, because Pat is obviously a crackhead. Anyone who supports him provides us a new species classification of moronus, Homo Moronus, yep thats the 700 Club fans and host..

He is no different than Osama Bin Laden neither serve reality, only their infantile fantasies. I wish both had been more sucessful with the opposite sex ( or in Pats case he had been able to be honest about his sexuality) like Michael Moore and Rush Limbaugh they exist to serve no purpose than to lead the most ignorant at each end of the spectrum.

  9. Poindexter says:

I can’t wait to see what god has in store for Pat!

  10. Incognito says:

    Here is a decent reference.

I believe in Christ and I think Robertson is an idiot and should die right now.

Kind of tells you where he stands on things.

  11. Incognito says:

Bolt of lightning needs to get him.

  12. site admin says:

Gee Paul, I always thought of you as a big Robertson fanboy.

  13. Pat says:

    Poindexter

Aaahh, could you be a little more specific about which Pat you are talking about, please.

  14. john says:

I’m a christian, i am passionate about my faith, and i think pat’s an asshole_ nuff said.

  15. Pat says:

    john

    same to you, ’nuff said

  16. john says:

    PAT

heheh, i was referring to pat robertson as the asshole, not you. sheesh, lighten up.
