Intel rebrands for consumer future – vnunet.com — Ok, read this quote about the Intel rebranding and use of “leap Ahead” as the catch phrase.

“‘Intel. Leap ahead.’ is a simple expression that declares who we are and what we do,” said Eric Kim, senior vice president and general manager of Intel’s sales and marketing group.

Who we are and what we do? Does that mean you are Intel (who you are) and what you do is jump up and down on a pogo stick, or what? Think about what you are saying, man!

What you do is “leap ahead?” Oh, brother. How about sitting down instead and designing chips.

  1. Steve Newlin says:

You know John, like how Intel leaped ahead in dual core chips. Er, in 64 bit chips. Er, in floating point performance. Er, in gaming performance. Er, tights. That’s it, Intel does all of its leaping in tights!

  2. John, you’re being too nasty. Let’s take the guy at his word. Intel knows what they do, but they can’t describe it any better than “Leap Ahead.”

I’ll bet this logo doesn’t last ten years. I hope it’s not replaced by:

    “Intel Outside.”

    Leap Ahead?
Is there anyone out there old enough to remember the 5 Year Plans of the Red Chinese government? Somehow this slogan reminds me of guys in Mao jackets, waving their little copies of The Thoughts of Chairman Mao, quoting some stupid propaganda phrase. How stupid is this new logo?!?
