BRUCE O’Malley had his head run over by a truck earlier this month but, in what doctors are describing as a Christmas miracle, he has lived to tell the tale.

The Huon Valley father-of-two was taking his wife Gay for a country ride on his motorcycle when they came off the bike after encountering a truck.

Mr O’Malley, 42, said had he not been wearing his Arai helmet he would be dead, the eighth motorcyclist killed on Tasmania’s roads this year.

Instead he survived to be one of 58 riders seriously injured in 2005.
