Don’t go thinking Microsoft has stopped screwing up peoples computers with IE. I’m sure we will be annoyed by Microsoft’s browser for years to come.
I’d like to say it’s thrown in the towel, but I’d imagine that’s not likely. With MS pitching it’s new services, and jumping (poorly) onto the AJAX bandwagon — I’m sure their Browser will continue to play a roll as they move to their own proprietary code and pass on standards support.
If Windows update on Vista becomes an app severed from IE, and ActiveX gets canned, then we’ll think differently:) Until then, IE will be around, just not as lively.
