MCDONALD’S will open its first drive-thru restaurant in Shanghai this month to compete with KFC, the Oriental Morning Post said today.

The outlet will be in Waigaoqiao, a region far from the downtown, where many people have to drive.

McDonald’s, the world’s biggest restaurant chain, last week opened its first drive-thru in China’s mainland in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. The 645-square-meter facility has more than 50 parking spaces for customers.

KFC, McDonald’s arch rival, has opened two drive-thru restaurants in Shanghai.

I really like smart-ass journalists who stick subtle puns into their articles. Har, har, har.

  1. Don says:

KFC had to respond so they wouldn’t appear to be chicken!

  2. mike Cannali says:

    Here come the overweight Chinese

Don’t know if I would want to eat chicken in China right now

  3. ParanoidAndroid says:

Well, we’ve unofficially declared war on China. I love the smell of arteries clogging in the morning….
