PANDAS, famously indifferent to sex, have given birth through artificial insemination to 25 cubs this year, and 21 have survived.

That’s a record for births and survival since China took up the breeding challenge in the 1960s, scientists said yesterday. There are about 1,590 pandas in the wild and 161 in zoos.

Because it’s so difficult for pandas to reproduce in captivity or in the wild, scientists have resorted to artificial insemination, sperm banks, and even showing the pandas videos on natural mating in the wild to arouse their sexual instincts — panda porn.

Sorry about the link, Maxx. Trying to catch up — using the laptop — while watching Crystal Palace beat Brighton in stoppage time. Very exciting.

Wow if panda porn can get this species off the endangered list, then I guess it should be okay.
