M&Ms Customized

The first thing that went through my mind when I saw this was.. why not edible-ink inkjet cartridges for special kitchen inkjet printers? Another fine idea for K-Mart. Inkjet printer companies could make further obscene profits off this: “Kits” for printing on a variety of weird food media.

Apparently customizable M&Ms have been available for over a year, but heh, who knew? And with Christmas– I mean the holidays— approaching, I’ve noticed that there hasn’t been nearly enough crass commercialism in the blog posts. Order yours now for that someone special in your life! [here]

Don’t bitch about the price. I’m just the messenger.

Now, I’m going to have to try to track down my favorite M&M copycat. When I was still on the road, I’d stop in at a favorite coffee roaster in Albuquerque [before we had 17 of ’em in Santa Fe] and he also sold HIS favorite candy. This included some pretty esoteric and strange confections.

I became addicted to an M&M knock-off which had a licorice-flavored candy-coating! Weird; but, tasty — once you got used to it.

And I thought i was behind the curve when I was looking at the halloween packages, and saw you can order custom colors [from a finite selection].

Now I find I was also oblivious to custom printing.

    I’m such a loser! 🙂

Well, if we bitched then our comments would be edited :p (guess where I got that from) Anyways it looks like a good idea but… meh

  4. That’s excellent. I just bought some! 🙂

Edible ink jet inks? Yes, these are also available. Go to your local Carvel Ice Cream store and order an ice cream cake (Edible Image Cake — http://www.carvel.com/cakecarousel_nf.asp?page=specialoccasion) with a photo on it — they have special paper & ink that is used to transfer photo images onto a cake. This also works for regular frosted cakes, but I’m told the edible image transfers best to buttercream frosting.

Can you get Dvorak.org on those little things?

Apparently, you cannot get a business name printed on the M&Ms. The list of restrictions is actually pretty stifling. No names of landmarks?!?
