Tropical storm is 21st of 2005 Atlantic season

MIAMI – Tropical Storm Wilma strengthened after getting into the history books today, continuing on a path that could mean yet another powerful hurricane slamming into the U.S. Gulf Coast and Mexico as early as the weekend, forecasters said.

Wilma became the Atlantic hurricane season’s 21st named storm before dawn, tying the record set in 1933 and exhausting the list of storm names. It could strengthen into the season’s 12th hurricane by Tuesday, which would match another record. Only in 1969 have that many hurricanes been sighted since Atlantic record keeping began in 1851.

I forget the storm name naming conventions, and if they say they’re out of names, maybe they are and a concerned citizen can make a difference.

Yo! Govt. ! I will give you free advice: If you need another name that comes alphabetically after “Wilma”, use “Xena”, which is in other science news lately, as well.

What do we call the next one?
