Capitol Hill Blue: Bush’s Erratic Behavior Worries White House Aides — This article is a year old, and seemed to be suppressed (at least when compared to when Nixon went through this stage). Perhaps it explains why Bush needs a five week vacation in the middle of a war where he is the Commander-in-Chief! Worth reading. Possibly distrubing.

President George W. Bush’s increasingly erratic behavior and wide mood swings has the halls of the West Wing buzzing lately as aides privately express growing concern over their leader’s state of mind.

In meetings with top aides and administration officials, the President goes from quoting the Bible in one breath to obscene tantrums against the media, Democrats and others that he classifies as “enemies of the state.”

Worried White House aides paint a portrait of a man on the edge, increasingly wary of those who disagree with him and paranoid of a public that no longer trusts his policies in Iraq or at home.

This article that ran last week, is even worse!!

“Who gives a flying fuck what the polls say,” he screamed at a recent strategy meeting. “I’m the President and I’ll do whatever I goddamned please. They don’t know shit.”

Bush, whiles setting up for a photo op for signing the recent CAFTA bill, flipped an extended middle finger to reporters. Aides say the President often “flips the bird” to show his displeasure and tells aides who disagree with him to “go to hell” or to “go fuck yourself.” His habit of giving people the finger goes back to his days as Texas governor, aides admit, and videos of him doing so before press conferences were widely circulated among TV stations during those days. A recent video showing him shooting the finger to reporters while walking also recently surfaced.

I have not found this latest video on the net, so it may be a bogus assertion.

This ear muff apparently set Bush on a rampage too.

Whatever the case, this brings me back to this post.

  1. Marcus says:

Therse are left wing lies! There is no “video”

  2. Jeffry says:

The article is referring to the old video made when Bush was governor and flipped off the camera and called it “the one-finger victory salute”.

  3. Keifer says:

I’m thinking that the video the artical is refering to is this one: http://www.collegehumor.com/movies/1597911/

however, I’m not sure, and the quality isn’t too great, which has lead to some speculation on if he was giving the bird, or a thumbs up…

  4. R Taylor says:

John I think you run these articles just to bait those that dwells in the house of the Bush. By the way I had to spend 10 minutes installing Firefox to leave this stupid comment because the WordPress people can’t figure out Safari page lengths. There will be a right/left war later, but what are the real choices? Currently the succession is Bush/Cheney/Dennis Hastert. I doubt any of those will warm a liberals heart. We’re stuck up to the axle with a nut/ a glut/ and a gloat.

  5. A Medina says:

I saw the one when he shot the bird when he was running for the TX gov. I believe it was on the Daily Show, not sure though. Freak’n hilarious that this genius is our supreme leader, not really though…

  6. Tim says:

Real reputable source there Dvorak. I’ll go pull some stuff Savage Nation or the like..what’s the difference?

  7. Proud Alien says:

No, the video may not exist. However, anybody who paid attention and who is capable of evaluating other person’s behavior had an opp to witness the clown-in-chief over the last five years. And to ask pointed questions that the right keep ignoring.

  8. catbeller says:

“this is pure invention. ‘can’t seem to find the video’. no shit.”

Jeebus, it only happened less than three weeks ago, and already it’s “unhappened”?

The White House insist he was giving a thumbs-up. Over his shoulder, over his head, backwards.

    That wasn’t his thumb..

Yes, he flipped off the network cameras, yes, there is a picture, yes, there is video from CNN. It was on Jay Leno! The video was everywhere! Did you know we’ve invaded two countries as well? It was in all the papers.

  9. site admin says:

The reference was to his walking along and flipping off some reporters..not to the old in-studio thing which is posted everywhere.

  10. site admin says:

Looking at the video on the Leno show fram-by frame..it’s clearly his thumb..since he rotates his hand at the end..it appears as if he was giving the thumbs up to some people in front of him…

  11. Mike Cannali says:

Wait a minute – Richard Nixon requires a fair hearing
    1. He never quoted the bible
    2. He only invaded insignificant asian countries who had soviet support – not someone important like Afganistan
3 Spiro Agnew was a whole lot scarier than Cheney

  12. A. Medina says:

After a good close look I have to say its his thumb, I think…. I don’t particularly care for the president but I think its thumb? Where’s the HD when you really need it…?

  13. Greg says:

I don’t know about this. I hate Bush, but this isn’t exactly a reputible source so I’m pretty skeptical.

We do know he doesn’t like the press. We do know he’s cursed before (the “major league asshole” incident) and has given the finger (the old govenor video, regardless of whether the newer Leno one shows anything or not) so it’s within the realm of possibility, but I need a real news source to push this before I take it seriously. (Not that the major news sources never get things wrong, but you know what I mean.)

  16. I also saw the clip on Jay Leno where the President is seen walking away from the press and them flipping off. That’s the way it looked to me. That’s also the way Leno and his audience interpreted it.

  17. Brian Mann says:

Come on John, can you stoop any lower than this? Did Barbara tell you to link to this nonsense?

  18. James says:

OK, I hate Bush and I’m extremely bitter about the man and the fact that he won the election. But this is…extreme.

I’m sure Bush’s mental capacity is fine (don’t give me that crap about not saying it in the article; you know damn well that that’s what you’re insinuating). I just think he’s hard headed and doesn’t care. Not crazy.

  19. MV says:

Perhaps, victory (and not defeat) in the elections was his punishment.

  20. Teyecoon says:

You couldn’t convince the Nazi’s that anything was wrong with Hitler either so what do you expect from Bush’s “loyalists”? Bush has used the same trick which is to associate his identity with his country and thus if you insult him, you insult the nation too. It’s mind control of the ‘tards’.
