All 309 Survive Plane Crash in Toronto — And let me get this straight, some of the survivors went and hitch hiked home? Without clearing customs?
The plane, carrying 297 passengers and 12 crew, overran the runway by 200 yards at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport, said Steve Shaw, a vice president of the Greater Toronto Airport Authority.
The aircraft skidded down a slope into a wooded area next to one of Canada’s busiest highways, and some survivors said that passengers scrambled up to the road to catch rides with passing cars.
Well, the article said that the people that were picked up were taken to the airports hospital to seek medical attention.
This is very weird, but probably it was a confused ordeal (to say the least) just to get back *to* the airport. One thing I’ll bet: Anyone who did not make it back to the airport (but went home as you suggest) will get a visit from some very interested law enforcement people. I guess I must turn on the tele..
All in a busy day’s work… 🙂
Canadian news broadcasters must be very disappointed that they have a major jet crash…and everyone walked away. This won’t be good on the evening news…”everyone fine”….
This is old news now, but most of the people on the flight were in fact brought back to clear customs/immigration right after it happened and anyone missing was found.
