Experimental Gameplay – Entertainment Technology Center, CMU
The Experimental Gameplay Project: create 50 to 100 games in 1 semester. New games every week.
Here are examples:
The Crowd exe zip
Not a game, more like a bizarre experiment. Interact with a crowd by advocating violence and love. Made for Indie Game Jam 3, “People Interacting”.

Blow exe zip
Blow on stuff. Make sure you have a microphone.

There’s some great stuff in there! Another thing to make you wonder about the current breain death in the videogame industry… Unfortunately we only consider it a ‘serious’ game if it’s sold in a store and takes you two months to master. These small ‘gamelets’ follow the ‘simple to learn, hard to master’ rule of old days.
I’m pretty sure I saw my kid playing the “Blow” game on his nintendo DS, I think its on the WarioWare Touch game which seems to be hundreds of these “gamelets” bundled together.
Try Darwin Hil – my favorite so farl!!! You won’t be able to kill those critters staring at you with those big bulging eyes 🙂 !!! At least if you’re human!!! And it’s a cool concept – computer mediated evolution of sorts. I’m going to have a good time with these ‘gamelets’!
