State holds nationwide puppy mills, breeders title – Chart – State — Compassionate Conservatives at work trying to outlaw photography once again, this time in Missouri. How do a-holes like this continually get re-elected?

Of legislation currently pending in the General Assembly, Paxton found House Bill 666, sponsored by Representative Jim Guest (R-King City), to be of greatest interest.

The bill would criminalize taking pictures of animal production facilities, including puppy mills.

“Nobody should trespass,” Paxton said, “but to make it a felony to photograph the health and well being of animals is wrong.”

This is the fourth year similar legislation has been introduced.

Supporters of the bill say the legislation is designed to address potential terrorist attack concerns on Missouri food supply. They believe terrorists would take pictures of potential targets as the first step in a campaign of terror.

WHat on earth does this have to do with conservatives much less “compassionate conservatives?” Stop trying to start trouble where there is none. This is a politician trying to protect a business model…just like Democrats do every day. Just like Independents do every day. Just like ALL politicians do, every day. They protect those who pay. If you don’t get that yet, may I suggest a newspaper once in awhile?

  2. DENHam says:

This is just stupid! I cannot believe that this is being done in the name of security. Forget nuclear reactors, dirty bombs and violent acts, its the puppy mills that the terrotists will hit first to cripple the nation. Great use of your tax dollars. Those politicians are definitely going to hell.

  3. It figures. Find a flaw in a political party, and the fanatic partisans attack you and accuse you of being biased and unfair.

That’s why I’m an Ethical Anarchist. I hate all political parties everywhere.

I will photograph anyone and anywhere I please. They’ll have to pry my camcorder and digital camera from my cold dead fingers.

I have videotaped drug busts, taverns, libraries, parties, fights, fights at parties, fights at parties in taverns while reading a book and high on drugs.

Ha ha ha. Photography is Revolution. Photographers of the World Unite.

There is a specific threat of terrorism that is being fought. Don’t forget that a terrorist cell was found trying to get at the food supply of soldiers in Iraq through the contractor in the US. So trying to target such terrorists, a good first step would be to go after their first step: taking pictures of potential targets. I imagine any number of people caught innocently taking pictures would refuse to speak to the police, but the threat of prosecution should make for an orderly investigation. I don’t like a police state, but I think the bigger threat is ID cards cameras and checkpoints, not laws enforced by police officers.

    They eat puppies in Missouri?

Liberal/Progressive Communist, Neo-Conmunist, or whatever the Democrats & Republicans call themselves, different streams, same river to the same ocean. Big government/corporations erecting a totalitarian regime where those that don’t have big money or connections are more or less surfs. Americans didn’t want the Panama Canal Treaty, Nafta, GATT or ever CAFTA, but we had it shoved down our throats anyway. Who suffered, the people, ie individuals that have to go to work everyday and can’t afford to demonstrate and get arrested because we would loose our jobs.

The signatories NAFTA and GATT are economic traitors and should be accorded the tried under such laws. They are directly contributing to the downfall of this country and to the future bloodshed we will probably have to endure because of their insistence on ethnic diversity.

Ever notice that each and every one of the ten commandments listed in the bible, the Democratic parties’ election platform it against. They like to race bait, but when it comes to putting minorities into positions of power it always seems to be the Republicans to do it. The Democrats advocate a policy and then the Republicans come along and implement it. It was Nixon that started the EPA, HUD. It was Reagan the started NAFTA and GATT. What did Carter start? What did Clinton start? Seems a little like ‘Good Cop, Bad Cop’.

It’s time for a different party, a Nationalist party. The only one I know of is the Constitutionalist party, unless you want to live under the same types of government the rest of world shares.

  7. Drew says:

Wow. That was a nice libertarian rave. Clinton did start Americorps, and he was the first US President to support massive AIDS relief to Africa. Now, I am a conservative Republican, but everytime I read about something like a photography ban i think there must be an inbreeding program that I thankfully do not know about. That is ridiculous.

  8. Miguel Correia says:

    Hey,

It is not my country. You do what you want with yours… but, please THINK a little before doing stupid stuff. OK, yeah, taking photographs of a target might be a first step. But even if it would pose a threat, do you think you eliminate that threat by outlawing photography of those so called targets?

Of course not. The practical result of such a law will actually be the opposite of the alegged reason. Terrorists will still shoot photos of their targets, while you loose a lot of freedoms for absolutely no security increase whatsoever. You might outlaw taking fotos of what you like, but if I were a terrorist, you bet I would manage my way into taking them. Think about spy cameras, etc. Innocent photographers who would otherwise do it in the clear are the only ones who would be affected by such a law.

Stop. Think. Only then Act. Don’t just say “hey, them terrorists need to shoot photos for their planning, so lets outlaw them”. Cm’on, do you really think that outlawing them will stop them??? Put the CIA to work instead. That would be the smartest thing to do.

It’s like that stupid question you ask people before they enter America. “Are you a terrorist?”. Yeah, sure, they’re going to answer “Yes!” and then it will be real easy to find them. What are you thinking???

America has a great responsability towards the world. It is one of the symbols of freedom and democracy. The worst about 9/11 were the thousands of lifes lost. The second worst thing about it is about how the fear it created in your souls is being taken advantage of by ruthless polititians to eliminate basic freedoms and strengthen their power in ways normally not compatible with a democracy.

I am a very worried citizen of the world.

    Puppy Mills?

Are you telling me that Hush puppies are made of puppies?

Soylent green! Ahhhh! The green crackers are made of humans!!!

The Chinese I had last night had a bit of a bark to it.

    Or was it a meow?

  11. Mister Mustard says:

    >>This is a politician trying to protect a business model…

Figures a BushHead would consider raising puppy dogs in a squalid pigstye for a few bucks to be a “business model”. Sheesh.

  12. Teyecoon says:

Another attempt to further a hidden agenda by a (Republican) politician by lying about the real reason for supporting an action. If Republicans hate how they are generally viewed by others then you can thank representatives like this for their selfishness and “F anything that gets in the way of making a buck” attitude. Not to mention the anti freedom of press perspective of such an anti-democracy law. Just another attempt/example of this administration’s fascism.
