I’m not kidding. I typed “blog” into Google images to get an appropriate image for this post and this picture was the first on the list. (Shown for informational purposes). Go figure.

Blogebrity: The List Geez, the idea of A-list blogging has now been institutionalized by what looks to be a pre-promotion site for a magazine about Bloggers. Having been a blogger (officially) for less than a year I was shocked, shocked I tell you, to find myself on the list.

The Blogebrity blog is here which gives you some idea as to what these folks are up to. The actual existence of this site tells some people that the end is near. This is something the editors discuss: “jumping the shark.” I disagree, I’ve thought about this for a long time and realize that until at least one popular song about blogging hits the charts, blogging can survive.

  1. Blogging can survive as a whole, yes. But it expands too quickly to keep the hype of a few going.

  2. Ed Campbell says:

It’s still nice to see you efforts on the “A-list”, John.

  3. Mike T says:

    Angelina Jolie…what a skank / freak.

“Having been a blogger (officially) for less than a year I was shocked, shocked I tell you, to find myself on the list.”

    Yeah, yeah. 🙂

Richard Brill gives you the blog of the year award, and you are surprised you made the list. 😛

  5. Anthony says:

You are a A-List person with a blog, but your not a A-List Blogger (no offence what so ever intended).

  6. TDavid says:

John – I whipped up a little program which pulls in the Blogebrity A-B-C list from the OPML and lets non-listed bloggers add themselves and then it polls Technorati stats and provides a bunch of different ways to compare bloggers. You can see and use it here: http://www.makeyougohmm.com/blogcompare/

Let me know what you think 🙂

  7. site admin says:

Anthony, I agree since I do not incessently talk about blogging nor do I spend all my time reading the blogs linking to me and then linking back to them so they’ll link back to me. And I do not run idiotic track-backs in the comment thread to prove people are linking. And I do not think blogging will change the world. That said I DO try to keep the blog interesting and updated with interesting content generally not found on the traditional A-list blogs.

  8. Mike Voice says:

“That said I DO try to keep the blog interesting and updated with interesting content generally not found on the traditional A-list blogs.”

Which is why I keep coming back!
