Fox execs tip-toe around ‘Idol’ flap What crap. This is so ridiculous and such an obvious publicity stunt that you have to wonder what’s wrong with this county. Whether true or not — who cares!?!?
NEW YORK — “American Idol” has kicked off contestants for concealing sordid secrets about their pasts, including Corey Clark — who now says he had an affair with judge Paula Abdul while competing two years ago.
Will Abdul be next?
Responding Thursday to Clark’s accusations, Fox and the show’s producers didn’t mention Abdul’s name and minimized the role of judges in choosing winners.
Despite ousted contestants, clogged phone lines that hindered voting, incorrect voting phone numbers that forced a do-over earlier this season, superior singers being suspiciously eliminated — nothing has derailed the “Idol” juggernaut, which an estimated 24.5 million people watched Wednesday.

Yeah, I guess it really doesn’t amount to a hill of beans compared to other things going on… but, I’d still be dissappointed to find out if Alex Trebek was singling out “favorite” jeopardy contestants for advice, judges calls (ie: please rephrase in form of question…)…
It is a game show (of sorts), with real $$$ to the winners involved, integrity of some level should be expected.
Everyone who has 5 brain cells knows this stuff is a big steamy pile of poo but unfortunately it gets coverage and thats why it is used. Fact is I’m surprised it took so long to get the soap opera plot lines started in this show!
Personally I think you wouldn’t get this kind of coverage if the US media market wasn’t so concentrated and devoid of real competition.
I mean this is ABC… the Disney Channel for adults right.
