GBjab — I probably would have been less annoyed by this Jib-Jab copy cat animation if it were not for the fact that they call themselves GBJab — an obvious pun. I found the piece to be too long, too one-sided, inefective and, well, not funny. It’s also done as one of those English music hall tunes. That sing-song style has never sounded good to American ears.

That said, this might qualify for the annoying flash animation award.

I was already set to respond that this is more a propaganda piece than a humor piece, when lo and behold at least they admit as much at the end. It is indeed tedious, tiresome, full of clichĂ©s. One wants at least *one* new insight. This is just a long string of other people’s talking points.

I thought JibJab sucked in the first place anyway.

You might not recognize it, but the tune is “It Wasn’t Me” by Shaggy.

The original song was somewhat of a hit here in the US, and has a similar sing songy sound.

It wasn’t as big as Mr. Boombastic, but Shaggy’s biggest hit in years.

Shaggy, BTW, is an american (a former marine), and talks without any kind of accent at all, but when he sings he puts on a faux jamaican sound.

    Oh yeah, one other thing.

The REALLY annoying thing about this animation was the mouths.

They made ZERO effort to synchronize the mouths to the people talking. Or to even not have them moving when no one was talking.

The following could be played to force suspects to talk:

You know, it reminds me of a bad horror movie vs. a stupid horror movie. A bad horror movie is worth watching because the creators know very well that they are creating a bad horror movie. (The result is often a cult classic.) The stupid horror movie isn’t even entertaining because the creators don’t..
