I was sorting my photos and ran into a cache of pics from my 1997 visit to Taipei which were taken with the then $800 DC-120, a barely over 0ne-megapixel camera that was a huge breakthrough at the time. Without a lot of software manipulation the pics could barely pass as decent 4×6 prints although they look good on the web to this day. Here are various pictures from the Computex show and the city of Taipei in 1997.
Just serves to prove that effective blogging can be done on a barebones budget – an old digital camera or phone camera will do for illustrating purposes.
Ever tried the Creative PC Cam 600? I loved the way portraits came out – except when the flash had to go off, red eyes always appeared. Otherwise it was great for protraits, parties, etc, if you never increased the size of the photo.
John, what consumer camera do you think is the quickest. Quickest to focus, quickest to take a picture from being dead off, quickest to take a picture after pressing the button? I want to get a Nikon D70 or D50 (when it comes out) because I want a quick camera. I would also like a super compact camera that takes fast pictures so I always have one with me.
Getting a D70 or D50 will give you the action you crave…focus is a function of all sorts of variables, but these will be two excellent choices. No super compact camera takesa fast pics. So get one you like.
