Proposal for Massive Student Database Splits Higher Education Community — What I find interesting about this is that in the bigger Universities where there may be lecture halls with 1000 students they want to check on “attendance.” This is hilarious the fact that it has gotten this far. What a nation of sheep.
All colleges and universities would be required to provide each student’s name, Social Security number or taxpayer identification number, birth date, address, race and ethnicity, gender, citizenship status, academic record (including number of courses and credits attempted and major field of study), attendance record, and information on degree completions, participation in varsity sports, tuition and fees paid and any financial aid from federal, state or institutional sources.

Not joking.. I was in a 700 person lecture @ Marquette, “HIST 001: The History of Western Civilization”. We were all assigned seats and the TAs took attendance. Of course, they’ve since changed the way the class is run (it’s no longer a 700 person lecture class)
Anyway.. I don’t think it’s anyone in the government’s biz to know if I went to class or not.

This kind of thing makes me glad to be a canadian.
They need to know because you could actually be a terrorist only PRETENDING to go to class. In actuality you are planning TOP SECRET terrorist terrorisms, and you are obviously up to no good if you are not in class. They also need to know if you have a girlfriend, if you actually sleep with her or not, or if it’s just a platonic cover-up relationhip to hide your terrorist activities.
