Dr. Gene Scott.com – Home — I was disappointed to learn that the always entertaining and cynical TV minister Dr. Gene Scott died last week. Here’s his homepage.

  1. Ima Fish says:

There was no doubt that his Ph.D. was real, as no one could understand a word he was saying. He’d go on and on on his shows and make NO sense! And I have a philosophy AND law degree, so I’m used to BS!

  2. Ed Campbell says:

The dude was fascinating. I never wasted too many gray cells on his premises; but, what an example of how thoroughly you could research something you believed in.

And shape and tailor that information.

  3. site admin says:

I was a huge fan of his too and did a piece about him in the SF Examiner when I was a columnist there. And it was his theology that was the most interesting since — in between rant and “Am I boring you?” — he had some great insights.

My fav, though, was the time he went for weeks and weeks — I think this was in the late 1970’s — with nothing but a 24-hour plea for money. Nothing else.. just “give me money!” You’d tune in just to see how long it would last.

  4. Hank says:

I’m glad you said that about his theology, John. I’ll guess that most people missed that side of him, because of his showmanship.

Just when I would dismiss Scott because of his UFO/Atlantis/pyramid theories, he would throw in a little theology and I’d be impressed again!

I have formal training in the field and I can recognize that Scott took his theology seriously.

    Hank

  8. Marsha Borgeson says:

Has Dr. Scott passed away???!!! The same Dr. Scott that teaches on the beginning writings of the Bible?? The brilliant speaker on God’s word? The one with the white beard?? Is this the same Dr. Scott that died?!
Can’t believe it! If it is him, What happened? Why did he die? If not, please let me know that I am hearing something that is not true.
    Marsha

  9. site admin says:

    Yes, died.

  10. VICTOR says:

Dr Scott was the greatest genius I have ever heard.
I only listened to him in the past year on the radio and internet..
    he made you really think.
I never did hear what he said his understanding of the Great Pyramid’s intended use was…can anyone tell me?
Personally my theory is that it was built as a balancing feature for the world to prevent the Earth from changing polarity from north to south periodically. And my guess is that it was built by Ham, with divine help.
Just my thoughts. Ham was supposed to be the one who pushed the water back.

  11. VICTOR says:

ps I must say that he said it wasw a possible ” space capsule, some sort of clock set to measure every 26000 years, and contained standards of measure, etc. I guess what I want to say is that I think it’s also a world balancing mechanism.

  12. Charlie says:

Docs body died. He’s doing just fine. I imagine he’s up there with the archangel Michael saying something like “What’s the holdup? When in the hell are we going to go down there and kick some devil ass!” 🙂
    Soon Doc, real soon.

  13. donna says:

the worid is a lot darker now with that beauthful person gone from earth but how bright heaven is now

  14. betty Heishman says:

I am so sad. I only found Dr Scott several months ago. I told my friends about his teachings. I am not a well educated person but I do have some insite into the hearts of people. What a heart Dr Scott had.I feel sorry for his interviewers, upstairs. Their work is cut out for them. He is one of those people you were fortunate to know, even for a short time. My sympathy to all who loved him. Betty

  15. harold weaver jr says:

    hello all,
gene scott was gene scott. What you see is what you get. People gave to him because they wanted to give to him. Gene use the money for himself and made no bones about it. Gene was like alot like the many bums on T.V. asking for money in the name of GOD. These bums need to get a real job. I wounder how much money scott would have made if he had a real job.
    Harold Weaver Jr.

  16. greg says:

Dr.Gene Scott was a true instrument of the LORD… i still can not beleve what my eyes read about him having past away… the LORD used him as an instrument and true mentor to me, were i was staying at in Hartford, Connecticut… i think, that all of the research less, fewest detail, into the world and the worlds trends, into there self centered , caring only about there selves, hypocrits that critisize his teachings, and the tithes, and cooperations he asked for was too much for these type of indiviuals… (by the way), how is his wife?… he had a young wife.. i hope she is coping well… Dr.Scott was truly the person GOD used to save me, and form the holy spirit in my heart… i shed tears when i heard this happend… i once sent a seven hundred seventy seven dollar and seventy seven cent dollar tithe to him because even though i did not ever get to meet him like i was planning to(like he himself said)” if you receive spiritual milk, from me and do not provide materially, your are a crook, a thief, and a liar… I admired him so much through his television program, and even though i planned on making a reservation to see him pr..um,Teach about the pyramids, atlantis, and how man as the worlds trends and population grows get stupider, this man who was truly close to GOD was also Truly Wise… in a special way… there is going to be no one like him anymore… it was not only his IQ… he was also a blessing from GOD… LOL to the comment about him being next to the arch angel Michael in heaven ready to kick some devil butt, haha, i bet GOD has him in a special place… i hope he looks upon us while we type this right now or GOD tells him about how we admire him so much…

  17. BILL says:

OH JESUS HE WAS A RIP-OFF ARTIST LIKE ALL THE OTHER TV PREACHERS, THE ONLY THING THAT MADE HIM DIFFERENT WAS THAT HE WAS A LITTLE MORE INTELIGENT.BUT THE GUY IS NOT GONE BECAUSE LAST NITE SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER HIS DEATH HE WAS STILL ON TV ASKING FOR MORE MONEY WITH HIS 800 NUMBER LISTED ON THE SCREEN.SO EVEN IN DEATH HE WANTS MORE BUCKS.

  18. laura says:

I only recently came across Dr. Scott on a TV channel – found him to be well grounded in God’s word and stated God’s love for sinners so simply – the final words today were “Jesus loves me and that’s my message” – he reminded me of my grandfather who was a minister – I am sorry to hear he has been called home – he will surely be missed

  19. Steve Scruggs says:

I was 17 yrs old when I met Dr. Scott. (1978) Back when the Attorney General of California was trying to get into the churches and take over the offering plates. Trying to find out who was giving all that money to “religious” leaders so that they could work there evil end. I skipped school that day and had my dad drive me 50 miles to the court house in Los Angeles to stand with Dr. Scott in telling them “No No we won’t show!” We eventually won that war and from then on I realized that Dr. Scott was the spiritual leader I was looking for. He spent the next 28 years putting flesh and blood on the bible…like no one else had ever done. He helped me to see God in a different light and because of Dr. Scott I’m still a believer. He had been there for me over the last 28 years and I will miss him. I pulled out his tapes on the end times and know that it won’t be long now before I’ll see him again. Thank Doc for “Giving them Hell” while you were here on earth.

  20. robert newman says:

Dr. Scott had a great life-living in his mansion in the California hills with his “wife” and her handmaidens. It’ almost enough to get me to become a minister and live the decadent life of luxury that he enjoyed. The man was an egomaniac who loved to berate and control his employees on live television-hardly the Christian thing to do. Does the widow, Melissa, get a fortujne from his estate, and perhaps a cut of future revenue that the taped broadcasts are still bringing in?

  21. Ernesto De La Rosa says:

I Just found out. Eight months later. I moved to France a few years ago and am kind of mad that on his Homepage nothing was stated. I only really trusted Him as a teacher and Preacher. I suppose what I learned most from Doctor Scott is to fear no one but God. Doctor Scott will never be replaced.

  22. Gail Rangel says:

For many years I had been going through some very hard times and it seems when your at your lowest point thats when God sends a messager to uplift your soul I did not know about Dr Gene Scott untill I

  24. Rick Campos says:

When you cut thru all the ridicule and self righteous judgement–Dr. Scott was the Greatest biblical scholar of this generation. Sure, he had his ways about him-some ways i did’nt care to much about. But, when it came to teaching and rightly dividing the Word of God-There was no one better.

  25. JFK JR says:

Come and listen to a story about a man named Eugene

  27. jfk jr says:

    BOOK OF HOAKSTERS
    Chapter :7 Verse:1
And see my prophet Dr.Loveless Scott
For I have given unto him
    ladies,limos,learjets,luxury
    mansions,show horses,
    cuban cigars
with which to puff himself up
and many fools to magnify himself
(YE SHALL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS
    NOT THEIR SUITS
YE SHALL KNOW THEY ARE MY DISIPLES BY
THE LOVE THEY HAVE ONE FOR ANOTHER)

  28. Matthew Robbins says:

It seems to me that Dr. Gene Scott was a fantastic student of the word of God. I admire his labor and understanding of the text. He like all people have struggles throughout life’s journey, but the thing that separates him from hyporcrites is that he was honest and open about who he was and his shortcomings, unlike most people. It seems odd to me that many ministers and lay people were educated by him, but they remain hypocrites hiding behind thier judgment of him while they feast from his table. P.S. The Apostle Paul said; that each man stands or falls to his own Master. Dr. Scott may have been the most educated man of our time. One thing is for sure Dr. Scott kept the faith
and without faith it is impossible to please God.

  29. jfkjr says:

Matthew said>(One thing is for sure Dr. Scott kept the faith!)
Matthew One thing is for sure Dr.Scott kept the money and kept asking for more and told people that they where going to hell if they didn’t “git on the phone” and send him more.

1If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
2If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to (H)remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

3And if I (I)give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.

4Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,

5does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,

    6does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

  30. Matthew Robbins says:

to jfkjr, My first comment is to you concerning your identity, I pastor a church of nearly 600 people and always detest cowards who have criticism, but refuse to be identified. If you are in the right you have nothing to hide. As concerning your rebuttle I suggest you take a look at the qoute I used from the apostle Paul from Romans 14:4. As touching Dr. Scott’s way of collecting and offering, I would suggest that at the very least he was being honest and straight forward with his approach. At leasts he was not raising money through a crisis from an orphanage in Hondurus or anywhere else in the world. However, the problem I have the most with your type of criticism, especially since you are unidentified, you appear to be jealous and envious of Dr. Scott’s success. I was never criticised when I started a church with 12 people in Ky and drove a 1978 3-speed on the column GMC. But when I had a church of 600 and drove a new vehicle, then people just like you had something to say especially my unidentified critics. It ‘s funny how an underdog is cheered on and a man of success is mocked. The piece of advice I offer to you jfkjr is that you should be careful to judge another man’s harvest until you have seen the seed he has planted.
