Slashdot | Microsoft Releases Malicious Software Removal Tool — The thread is now long enough at Slashdot to draw a conclusion about whether or not to install this new “fix.”

Conslusion: Maybe!

I’ll stick with a suite of anti=spyware paks instead. This my be the PC Mag column this week.

“Hot on the heels of their release last week of Microsoft AntiSpyware, Microsoft today released their very own Malicious Software Removal Tool with the claim that it will detect and remove infections from specific pieces of malware, including those in the families of Berbew, Doomjuice, Gaobot, Msblast, Mydoom, Nachi, Sassier, and Zindos from your Windows 2000, XP or 2003 machine. Microsoft also promises to release an updated version of the tool on the second Tuesday of each month.”

Sorry, Mr. Dvorak, OOT: How ’bout a ‘main’ link or a ‘home’ button on the individual blog-post template? I could of course just hit Ctrl-D and type dvorak.org, but clicking a link would be a nice convenience I’d imagine, if you please, sir….

BTW I love your PCMag columns, been reading them since 6th grade elementary, and I just graduated from college…
