Well this does seem a little over the top, but I don’t see how it is any different from the pre-paid services that almost all companies offer now.
Companies like Western Union now have pre-paid mastercards for use. Wal-mart, Target, Sears, etc. all have pre-paid shopper cards to give as gifts.
Though I admit that I dont have $5,000 or more to invest in this scheme, it does seem like an interesting idea.
The saddest aspect of the phenomenon is it’s embrace by working folks with lousy credit — who can’t manage cash, either. After all, what we’re discussing is paying someone else for a slightly less viable replacement for cash.
I guess the idea here is customer as venture capitalist. If you can’t sell the stock, sell the service. If you can’t sell the service, sell the idea. Just get the money and worry about the details later. It’s interesting! The idea of sleeping with a supermodel is interesting also. That’s why you got prostitution. You don’t need five grand. Prepaid sex, we’ll worry about the satifaction later. Maybe the airlines will start pimping out the flight attendants next. You don’t need labor contracts. Cancel all the labor contracts, you don’t need unions, they have a new plan. Do you get your dental and a pension?
