Crow’s “Spiritual Twin” Acquitted Feature Story — I’ve been meaning to blog this since I think the term “spiritual twin” might now become fashionable and perhaps relace the 70’s-sounding “soul-mate.”
On Tuesday, Ambrose Kappos, former Navy diver, was cleared of the charges of trailing and harassing Sheryl Crow during the past year.
Kappos, who had been discharged from the Navy, claimed to be Crow’s “spiritual twin” and was charged with stalking and burglary at Crow’s Manhattan concert in October 2003. Kappos allegedly approached Crow as she was ushered into her limo. As a result, Crow and her lawyers saw him as a threat, stating that the singer was scared and alarmed by his presence. Stan Hickman, Kappos’s attorney, made the jury aware that he did not commit any violent acts towards the singer. The jury took this into consideration and found Kappos innocent in less than three hours.
“Spiritual twin” will probably become popular, as it’s got the whole implicit incest thing going with the word “twin”, and, as Freud says, that’s really what we all are keen on even if we think and say we aren’t!
I don’t think the phrase “Spiritual Twin” will catch on in the US as an expression of someone you love/lust. Maybe in the South, but certainly nowhere else.
Um, weren’t you just complaining about ‘celebrity news’?
All I can say about “Spiritual twin” is it’s true….Five years ago, I don’t believe in such….but having experienced it….the intensity, desire & love of meeting your spiritual twin….it’s amazing…I’ve met my twin in a gym when he’s working out together with my husband.
