There are a lot of great editorial cartoonists in the US. It’s actually astonishing how many there are. Anyone who knows me knows that I admire these guys more than anyone. They can make the same points of a columnist in ways writers can only dream of. It’s an amazing craft and if you’ve ever met any of these guys, few of them take themselves seriously and fewer still think they are hot stuff. They just keep doing it, often daily. I’ve worked with a lot of artists and their skewed way of visualizing an otherwise liner thought is astonishing. So I’m going to highlight some of the best guys I’ve run into and may as well start with last year Pulitizer winner David Horsey of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. The website of his work for the newspaper is here.

I agree. Editorial cartoons are the best!

For the last couple of years I have subscribed to ucomics.com. Only 10 bucks a year, and you get dozens of editorial cartoons delivered right to your email box.

They have over 36 cartoonists they syndicate, but not all write one every day. I end up getting between 10 and 20 a day. It is a VERY interesting way to get the “news” of the day.

    I highly recommend it.

The “guide to blue and red America”, on page three is grest!. Hard to believe it was drawn in 2002.

  4. You should take a look at Ted Rall’s work. He used to be printed here in Brazil. Great stuff.
