Happened home at lunchtime, today, John. Switched on the tube [it’s not a tube, anymore — should I say, “switched on the DLP?” — and caught the Kerry and Clinton Show in downtown Philly. The morning news had projected 10-15,000 people for the 1st rally since Clinton got out of hospital.
The Philly cops stopped counting at 125,000.
Perhaps this is going to be symbolic if these guys don’t get more traction.
Who are they supposed to get “traction” with? Undecided voters? Bush supporters? Democrats?
It was a tight race in 2000, and little has changed since then. How will the last few days significantly change anyone’s mind? The only people who are undecided are the ones who don’t like either Bush or Kerry.
I live in Oregon, with voting-by-mail, and just mailed my ballot. For people like me, the election is already over – and no one will get any traction from us.
