Welcome to AJC! | ajc.com — Isn’t the FDA supposed to be monitoring this sort of thing better? And I thought testing was supposed to take place BEFORE a drug was released, not during its release.
The maker of the popular arthritis drug Vioxx is removing it from markets worldwide after a new study found that long-term users face increased risks for heart attack and stroke.
The three-year study, designed to see if daily 25-milligram doses of Vioxx might inhibit recurrence of precancerous polyps in the colon and rectum, found the cardiovascular risks began to appear approximately 18 months after starting on the drug.
Somewhat related, I saw an advertisement this past weekend for a medication to treat Crohn’s Disease (I probably spelled that wrong). I don’t know anything about the disease other than the alleged sufferer appears to be having stomach cramps, and because they announced that one of the side-effects of taking the medications is death (people have died from the medication), that Crohn’s Disease must, really, really suck.
It has long needed to be said that your ability to match picture with blog post is one of your spiritual gifts. LOL
Thanks KB, I’m glad someone notices. Although some research indicates nobody pays attention to the graphics (at all), I think they add a nice dimension.
For the record, I think you have some of the craziest images (in a good way) I’ve ever seen on a blog. You have a very unique sensibility.

You haven’t done any research and you know it. 😉
