When I was growing-up, my Grandfather had a favorite quote – after we witnessed a blunder – which was: “Learn from the mistakes of others, not just your own, because you’ll never live long enough to make them all yourself.”
The thought that there are those amongst us (not us, of course!) who can’t learn from their own mistakes – let-alone anyone else’s – is depressing, cuz we’re all in this together.

In the history of political protests, police have long had the technological upper hand when it comes to monitoring protesters’ movements and actions. But a new tool is giving activists at this year’s two major political conventions a chance to stay one step ahead of the police.
Known as TxtMob, the new service from the Institute for Applied Autonomy was unveiled last month at the Democratic National Convention in Boston.
All the big media talked about was blogging at the DNC convention in Boston. It got boooring. Watch for more from the TxtMobsters in NYC. Look out RNC conventioneers, that geek standing over there might be a smart mobster. I’ll make them an offer they can’t refuse, in real time. Anyone with a camera phone or a digital camera and email can be a reporter. This should be more fun than blogging the DNC convention in Boston. Politics is all about communication and getting your message out. It’s getting easier, which should make it get better. Look out CNN, you might get scooped by the smart mob.
