monkeemobile

One of the mainstays of CES has always been mobile electronics, with an entire hall dedicated to them. Most of the cars are made purely for exhibitions or competition, and it shows.

Some of these are pretty trick. Some, of course, are loaded with crap designed to sell to someone who thinks looking like a pimp is way kool!

    The photos are terrific, Alix.

  2. These are killer photos!!

  3. James Hill says:

Great work, Smarty. I’m really enjoying your CES coverage.

Have you seen many products in the media extender space? Anything I should consider along with the Apple TV?

Likewise, have you seen any NAS devices that impressed you… especially any that can function as an iTunes server?

  4. Smartalix says:

    3,

There are a few companies chasing vidcasting now, that’s for sure. I hadn’t paid much attention to that stuff, but I’ll look into it for you.

As for NAS devices, the Buffalo drives I talked about in the other CES post would be great for that. Lots of storage, nice features.

  5. James Hill says:

I like the Buffalo drives quite a bit… but I don’t know if they have a built in iTunes server (I’ll look this up tomorrow). That being said, no one has done an implementation of the built in iTunes server that’s worth a damn.

    Rule of pimped ridez #234:
Install monitors in the most impractical places.
    Good: monitor in the headrest
Better: monitor in the trunk / truck bed
    Best: monitor under the car

  7. DJHannu says:

Sure, the one year I don’t go to CES and they’ve got the fricken’ BATMOBILE there. Damn.
