Russian skater prays, makes sign of the cross, remains one of the few who does not fall
What’s with all the Olympic ice skaters falling all over the place? It began with the figure skaters. Encouraged by weird judging rules to take risks trying to make quad spins skater after skater was falling on their asses because an attempt that failed got you more points than no attempt at all. So these people are getting medals after falling down! This was happening to the men, women and pairs. It was ugly. So I turn on the ice dancing, which is supposed to be artistic and immediately see a couple fall on their asses, then another and another. The announcers were going crazy over it. “This never happens,” said one of them. Oh really?
The sick part is I actually enjoy this. It’s hilarious. I never thought much of ice skating but now the suspense of wondering when someone is going to fall on their ass has made the sport a lot more fun to watch.

Italian favorites. Guy lost his footing drops partner and falls.
She stood him there at center ice and gave him the evil eye for a good two or more humiliating minutes, quite amusing. He’ll be eating from the doggy bowl tonight.
Skater just falls out of the blue
Between the inconsistent/bias-prone judging, and the puppetmeisters lurking in the shadows with their transfusion machines, will there ever be a legitimate athlete/winner in the olympics again? The games have lost their relevancy entirely, IMO.
There was more contact during the ice dancing than during the hockey.Very entertaining!
I love Olympic figure skating, but the judges this year totally suck! Giving the Chinese a silver after the female skater took a total belly flop and ice burn on her face was BS. The Polish couple were awesome as were the UK brother/sister team (although the broadcasters kept talking about them as though they were having incest). On another note the NBC broadcasters had such pleasant things to say like “That guy’s costume looks like my dining room drapes” and “Her dress certainly is ugly”. I could go on for several thousand more words but I don’t need the stress.
Man, I wish any other network except NBC was broadcasting the Winter Olympics!

Winter olympics = waste of time.
It is funny to see them try to push ice skating to ridiculous heights with “THE QUAD QUAD!”
Seeing them all fall on their asses is quite humorious. Almost as funny as watching an idiot matador dancing and then 30 feet in the air after he gets the horns.

between the drug raids and the hype over nothing, I haven’t missed a thing.

Winter Olympics are MUCH better than the Summer Olympics… At least there is chance for serious injury… And how many times can you watch a person swim / run from one end to another… B-O-R-I-N-G!
Skiing, Hockey, Skating, Boarding, gun shootin’… Winter Games got it all! And most of the chicks don’t have penises!
Am I the only one that thinks that judged competition should not be in the Olympics? If it is not measured, scored (e.g. hockey, basketball), or timed it shouldn’t be in the Olympics.

Wow, some people really have a serious disdain for the Olympics!! I guess it depends on what you do for fun/recreation?
That’s why I prefer the summer Games, cuz I’m an avid runner and cyclist, and I love to see what the gifted ones at these sports can accomplish. But I can still appreciate the physicality of most of the winter sport events… well, except for curling.
They need to throwout all the artistic judging based events. Figure skating, gymnastics, ice dancing, ballet, etc. What’s next, a slam dunk contest? Also, throw out those XGames events they added so the US could be competitive.
