American Air cancels 850 flights on MD-80 inspection: report – MarketWatch

— Cripes!

American Airlines canceled another 850 flights Wednesday as part of its plan to reinspect MD-80 fleet, the Wall Street Journal reported on its Web site. The news comes a day after the airline canceled as many as 500 flights to comply with Federal Aviation Administration standards related to the bundling of wires in the aircraft wheel wells.

I sure am glad I don’t have to fly often. Between this crap, the TSA and being packed in like sardines flying doesn’t appeal to me anymore. If I can’t drive to where I am going I won’t go.

This on top of the SWA problem of a few weeks ago tells me that more of this is coming. Air travel has been appalling these last few years. I doubt it will get any better anytime soon. Bring back trains.

AA isn’t too good with customer relations, either. See this article with video in Aviation Tech on Cage Match (thanks, KD):

The 1st comment has a video of an F-15 landing without a wing. I doubt an MD-80 could do that.
